WOW! - I didn't know they still had them. Are they still left-wing?

Now, now. Hey, this thread isn't getting pulled like yesterdays! We are such nice conservatives. A great non-generation!

Too bad, because the best prom theme possible was available:
"Two Tickets to Paradise" by Eddie Money. We did it for Homecoming one year.

Which reminds me of Stridex Medicated Pads, as advertised during "Shindig" and "Hullabaloo".

The slow dance of the ages ... "Color My World"
Phew, gettin' a little warm in here ...

Did ALL of us here in Wisconsin wear pants under our dresses? haha Our kids don't know what they're missing. 1957 I loved FIZZIES and those little dot candies that came on the long strip of paper.

Weekly Readers - are they still left wing? Yes, I think so. Very PC, ecological/diversity oriented. Can't tell you for sure, because I've only seen the Preschool version and the website. Check it out for yourself at

"We tried a write-in campaign for Stairway to Heaven, but it didn't work. Bummer. I had the same experience with the 400 signatures I collected for "White Punks on Dope."
I felt so misunderstood.

We wore pants under our dresses in Michigan too! Those midwestern winters were tough on little girls in dresses. Kids today are fortunate to have such a variety of comfortable (and warm) clothing that is permitted in school.

"Captain Kangaroo every morning before school. Mr. Moose, Bunny Rabbit, Mr. Green Jeans, Grandfather Clock." The ping pong balls! Did anybody else get Clancy or Axel & Nurse Carmen? Popeye & Pete or Casey Jones and Roundhouse Rodney, or were those all local?

Our son brings home Weekly Readers from 1st grade and his big brother has Time for Kids in 3rd grade. They're both pretty PC junk.

"Hey, this thread isn't getting pulled like yesterdays!"Umm, yeah, THAT was exactly my concern as well! ;^)
BTW, WIMom... You've done a truly outstanding job with this thread today and this evening. Major props to you!

Remember Phiso-derm? It was banned for some reason. Probably had DDT in it. Do you all remember when your neighbor would get sprayed for bugs?

Pants under dresses? No - we had those lovely leg warmers! Mine were powder blue.
