The
Rev$ Falwell and Robertson are like Bill Clintoon, Al $pittoon and Je$$ie Jackson in never missing an opportunity to grab the spotlight and make a quick buck.

It's always interesting when folks start telling GOD what to do.

My friends and I refer to Mother Angelica as "Big Cross Lady." We stumbled upon her on tv years ago and she was wearing a cross that went from neck to waist. It was HUGE!
Speaking of her, I saw her on tv the other night and she was wearing an eye patch and the left side of her face seemed to be paralyzed. Did she have a stroke recently?

In what way? I see very little in common between Falwell, Robertson and the idiots you mentioned.
To: Phantom Lord
More than likely Bell's palsy, but I haven't gotten confirmation either way.
I visited her headquarters in Alabama in August and all my kids got a big hug and kiss from her. She is even greater in person than on TV. She is truly a prophet, regardless of the myopic opinions of some agitators here.

Where in this original post on this thread is anyone telling God what to do?

Hmmm...I guess you got me there.
Here, I thought it was a rhetorical question, and as such I never realized they were literally telling God what to do.
Thanks for opening my eyes. I'll be much more careful now.
Oh, by the way, do you think God will apologize now that homosexual advocates have clarified that S & G was not destroyed because of homosexuality? Do you think maybe it was just "collateral damage," that maybe the fire and brimstone was directed at some other baaad country, and God's aim was just a little off?

All idiots? Oh really? How are Falwell and Robertson idiots?

Mother Angelica had several little strokes about 3 weeks ago and was hospitalized. Her one eye has the patch because the lid doesn't blink or close now. She also has some facial paralysis.
I was there this weekend for the dedication of a building, and to see my daughter who is one of the Nuns. Mother is doing well, despite her recent travails.

Like I said "It's always interesting when folks start telling GOD what to do."
You too I see.

Falwell is an idiot because he apologized for saying what he said, instead of
clarifying what he said. His only mistake was to back down to anti-Christian bigots (besides saying it in such an unwise fashion in the first place.) His was the text book example that the truth can be spoken in such a way that the truth of the message is destroyed by the messenger delivering it.
Robertson no longer holds any moral authority whatsoever after his idiotic comments on China's coercive contraception/sterilization/abortion programs.
To: sockmonkey
Thanks sockmonkey. Several doctors I know were discussing whether her facial paralysis is due to an actual stroke versus Bell's Palsy (which is a "stroke" of the facial nerve controlling the muscles of the face, but not a "stroke" in the strict medical sense.) Regardless, our beloved Mother Angelica will not let a few little strokes keep her from proclaiming the Gospel loud and clear to all who will listen. God Bless her!

Do you comprehend satire?
To: proud2bRC
I was just curious why there is such vehement disdain and hatred out there for these men. My experience has been those that can't stand these men are usually not Christians or just don't like their personality or style and can't get past that to judge what they say not how they say it.
I disagree with the recent Falwell comment (from a theological standpoint) but I agree with much of what he has said in the past. I also have not heard of anything Robertson has said I have much of a problem with. These are both faithful and honorable men with much intelligent and insight. Maybe not perfect but hardly idiots. They are not politicians nor should they be expected to speak like one. They should be free to tell it like it is the way they see it. Falwell caved and he may have done so for the greater cause of Christianity and its image. We don't know all the facts. In any event, I had trouble understanding his logic on his recent statement but still won't trash the guy because I don't agree with this one point. Thanks for your insights.

She is truly a prophet, regardless of the myopic opinions of some agitators here.
How much of a prophet can she be? She was clueless when a "BabbaBooey" Howard Stern caller got an air with her. She couldn't understand that someone was pulling a prank...
No offense, I enjoy watching her and listening to her perspective every now and again....

Mother Angelica has had a number of strokes recently. Please pray for her. I met her in person last year on the set of Mother Angelica live (her TV show), what an experience. She is truly a great human being.
