Let us not also forget Dr. Paul that this was also the very same President who started the United States down the path of being the "World's Policeman".
FReegards . . .
One of the few times I have disagreed with Ron Paul, who in my estimation, is the only congresscritter worthy of his salt.
The comment above indicates we were targeted because of our freedom and wealth? Not even maybe, Ron. The USofA was targeted because we stick our damn nose in every armpit of the planet, when it ain't welcome.
Dear Ron, follow the example of the Swiss.....be strong, stay home. Let the rest of the world go to hell in a bucket, as long as it is not a threat to national security.
Regards
J.R.
The radicals react as some Americans might react if China dominated the Gulf of Mexico and had air bases in Texas and Florida. Dominating the Persian Gulf is not a benign activity. It has consequences. The attack on the USS Cole was a warning we ignored
An issue well ignored at FR. Dominating the Persian Gulf is not a benign activity. Americans are perfectly blind to this. How could anyone object to our benevolence? How many at FR are perfectly blind to this?
Agreed.

I agree with your statement that we are a target because we stick our nose into things that are none of our business, but I think you missread what Congressman Paul was saying. He said "we are told...that we are hated because we are free and prosperous." I think he would agree with your assessment of the situation.
Before anyone attacks, read what he says. He speaks the truth here, so few in his position do these days.
I would guess the majority here are blind to this, somewhat surprising, but many seem to feel the need to adhere to the party line.
I did a search and didn't find the speech posted, I guess that makes sense if the prior thread had been pulled...

Hearing the truth from an elected official is refreshing. I don't see anything unpatriotic in what Ron Paul has stated in this speech.

Listen here, dude! We can do whatever the hell we want, anywhere we want! We're number one!!! Any scum country doesn't understand that can have a nukular missile for lunch! KILL!
*By the way, Ron Paul is great, isn't he?
