i am quite (hopefully?) certain that america/allies have planned for this contingency and would either a)act immediately/have counter measures to defend the paki's nuclear facilities in the event the government is toppled or b)nuke the storage facilities to destroy the cache before transport/use of these wmds could be utilized beyond the region. bummer for that region though.

I have come to the conclusion, after much thought, that if a nuclear weapon is detonated on US soil, then the United States should immediately annihilate ALL of it’s possible enemies. We, the USA, should even start to hint to the world press that we retaliate massively if a US city is hit.

We should basically tell the Muslim world that if they escalate to nuclear, then we will be forced into “mutual assured destruction” mode as existed during the cold war. That is the only way it can be with nuclear weapons. Of course it is not fair to kill innocent people, but that is exactly what we would have done with the Russians during the cold war if we got hit. Since we don’t know which Muslim state is behind the attack, but we know that all of the attacks and hatred is coming from Muslims, we have no choice but to exterminate them all. Yes, we should have the resolve to kill 1.2 billion people if they hit us with nuclear weapons. If China is even suspected, they must be eliminated or decapitated as well. Would it be horrible? Yes. Is it the only way to prevent a nuclear attack on the USA? Yes. There is just no other way to deter terrorists and terrorist states other than to threaten to kill all of those they care for. Our attitude MUST be that if they kill 1,000,000 of “ours” in a sneak attack on NYC with nuclear/bio/chem, then we will kill 200,000,000 or even 2,000,000,000 of “theirs” as well as ALL Muslim “holy” sites.

This is the only way it can be if we expect to survive. This policy must be made known for it to be effective. We would win such an exchange. Of course their would be global environmental consequences of, say, a 200 megaton delivery. But we would make it. Fallout and fears of "nuclear winter" could be minimized with the use of higher airburst or even neutron weapons. I would sleep alot better at night if Bush came on TV with this policy. Radical Muslims who practice terror only respect terror and we must realize this and be prepared to respond in kind.

Do you really believe that private representations along these lines have not already been made? Bush Sr. did it with SaDAMN in the gulf war, and it is too obvious a move for Bush Jr/Cheney/Rice/Powell/Rumsfeld not to have done.

True. This is true of American citizens in peace time. We are at war. The security of teh country comes before the "civil rights" of suspected terrorists. Oh yeah...they are all suspected terrorists. That's not our fault, it's theirs. When this war is over, we can all make nice again.

By the way, have you ever been to Paterson, NJ. I used to live about half a mile from the city limits on a bad side of town. News says that six of the bastards involved in 9-11 lived there. I am familiar with the area where they were. Have no doubt, there are more terrorists here than those six who crashed the planes. Many more.
