The ship idea is a great one, but when such a world-witnessed attack as this occurs ,I tend to lean towards having a memorial that the world can see and visit.

I would like something more militant. Mostly monuments are things that people don't visit. They see the Lincoln, Jefferson and Washington monuments, and the tomb of the unknown. The other tens of thousands of memorials in this country are almost always deserted.

How about naming some of the next generation AWACS Aircraft after them. They are gonna cost as much as a ship, and last about as long.

Cap'n my cap'n, this response has taken so long because I have fled to far-off Marakesh. When Ginny 9 contacted me, she turned out to be a very handsome, sweet lady 'thno smell of grog about her (well, that day, anyway. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum). Girrrrl, settle down, it's probably some training exercise going on out of San Antonio. Don't be nervous about it, be glad that they're prepared. I find great comfort and assurance in that. If they fly over again, go out and give them a big happy wave. :)

That could be a wonderful and strong message to the world!To have these heroes' names flying high on the sides of these symbols of power! Hey! And some LARGE pictures of these planes could be placed in the lobbies of the newly built World Trade Center?? ;-)
