"It's a difficult time. With so many scarred by the attacks in the US on September 11th, 2001, we look towards justice. But as Ghandi said, "An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind."
That's why Citizens for Legitimate Government, while respecting the need for justice, is planning massive anti-war demonstrations for the duration of this war. Throughout the United States, we must do everything to ensure that not a single innocent person is killed, not one more drop of innocent blood shed, not one more family is left without their loved ones without a reason. We don't want to become our enemy. Justice yes, mass murder no.
Stay tuned to Citizens for Legitimate Government Actions Forum at for more information on events in your area. If it's a peace vigil, or an anti-war protest, we'll have it posted on our forum, and on this page. If you want to join our Actions Forum and don't have an account, go to http://www.legitgov.org/discus/, in the left column click on "Edit Profile," then "Instant Registration" and enter your name, email address, username and profile. Wait for the email confirmation, and you're all set.
Stay tuned. We will fight against the death of innocents and we will make sure that while justice shall be served (without cruel and unusual punishment,) we don't slaughter another 600,000 people, as in the Gulf War.

Yes, it is very late notice, but we weren't exactly expecting to be so close to war so soon. This will also have an anti-racist agenda. We are in a *very* small town and need all the support we can possibly get. We would be very grateful to those who could travel to help us out.
EAU CLAIRE, WI Tri-State Midwest Rally for Peace September 23 2:00 pm, Sunday Sep 23, 2001 Eau Claire, Wisconsin Owen Park Speaker To Be Announced It is our responsibility as citizens of this democracy to come together and voice broadly felt concerns that have arisen in response to our government's rhetoric and action in respect to the recent terrorist attacks. Americans, as well as millions of others around the world, feel and have felt the horrors of war. It is out of this universal experience and emotional response that we must call for assembly. The time for political discussion, the time to offer our opinions is now, before situations find themselves far worse. You, along with many others can come together to advocate a peaceful, intelligent, and rational response to the recent attacks. We must work to understand why such acts have taken place, to educate the American public on the complexities of American foreign policy and our relationship with the world. Let's gather to discuss what cannot be ignored, and rally for Peace across the globe and safety for ALL innocent people!

PRINCETON, NJ RAISE YOUR VOICE FOR PEACE! On Friday, September 21, at 5:30 PM, the Princeton Peace Network is sponsoring a peace action, "Global Citizens Against War," at the Frist Student Center. The rally will feature speakers from the University and community, including: Prof. Richard Falk, Prof. Frank von Hippel and Dr. Zia Mian. The Princeton Peace Network is a community of many voices in and around Princeton opposed to a military attack, and the inevitable loss of untold numbers of lives, driven by the current environment of anger and revenge in response to the tragedy of Tuesday, September 11, 2001. Our thoughts are with the friends and families of the victims as well as those targeted by racial hatred and scapegoating. We recognize that Tuesday's tragedy affected a diverse international community. Now is a time for solidarity; there is no "us" and "them." To prevent an escalation of the atrocities, it is imperative that we do not condone inequalities in the value of human life, based on the artificial boundaries of geography, race or religion. Friday's rally will culminate a week of vigils, teach-ins and discussions calling for peace. Raise your voice to help prevent war. You are not alone. Please visit: http://www.geocities.com/princetonpeacenet or email amyshughes@hotmail.com for further information Albuquerque NM Procession of Peace September 21 4:00 pm, http://pax.protest.net/ A procession for peace starting at the University book store and moving towards Carlisle. Atlanta GA Atlanta Peace Rally: Piedmont Park, October 11, 2001 - 6:00 pm Atlanta, GA We want America and the World to know that we support our government, and trust that they will handle this matter in the most prudent manner, minimizing the "collateral damage" to innocent people. The loss of one more innocent life is one too many, but unfortunately, that is sometimes the reality of war. We want America and the World to know that defending our country, and defending freedom, justice and democracy is only one part of a larger puzzle, though an important and essential one. If we kill Bin Laden or those like him, there will be 20 more to replace him. We must relieve the symptoms of evil in this world, yes, but we also must attack the core of this sickness at its roots. Those roots are grounded in ignorance, which must be eradicated via education, loving kindness and compassion. At this critical moment in World history, it is imperative that we have a constructive dialog discussing how we can promote world peace and change the snarled face of the world. We can only over come if we come together, that is what we want to do on Oct. 11th and hereafter. For more information: www.AtlantaPeaceRally.com or Email AtlantaPeaceRally@hotmail.com The webpage is rather rudimentary right now, but it will become very useful within the coming weeks.
