I know exactly what BADJOE means. Whenever you get to the cabin out in the snowy northwoods, there's a nice little "courtesy pile" of firewood ready to go. This is there so that when you arrive in the middle of the night -- cold, hungry and exhausted -- you don't have to hunt for firewood. You can make a fire right away and start warming up.

Of course, the next morning you do have to go out and look for some firewood, because you have a duty to leave that woodpile taller than you found it.

"...We have therefore to resolve to conquer or die:
Our own Country's Honor, all call upon us for a
vigorous and manly exertion,
and if we now shamefully fail,
we shall become infamous to the whole world.
...The eyes of all our Countrymen are now upon us,
and we shall have their blessings, and praises, if happily we are instruments
of saving them from Tyranny mediated against them.
Let us therefore animate and encourage each other,
and shew the whole world,
that a Freeman contending for Liberty on his own ground
is superior to any slavish mercenary on earth."

George Washington--July 2, 1776--General Orders in which he urged his troops to "greater levels of exertion".

The fight for Freedom and Liberty never ends. We must always be vigilant. We must always be prepared. We must always be aware, awake and active. The FreeRepublic is a beacon of Liberty in which we can keep the lights of freedom blazing. Please help keep FReeRepublic muscular and strong with your donation. Thank you.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:

He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;

He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:

this truth is marching on.

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

His truth is marching on.

I have seen him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps;

They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;

I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;

His day is marching on.

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

His truth is marching on.

I have read a fiery gospel, writ in burnished rows of steel:

"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;

Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,

Since God is marching on."

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

His truth is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;

He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:

O, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! Be jubilant, my feet!

Our God is marching on.

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

His truth is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,

With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me;

As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,

While God is marching on.

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

His truth is marching on.

Almost two centuries ago a group of disturbed men met in the small Pennsylvania State House they gathered to decide on a course of action. Behind the locked and guarded doors they debated for hours whether or not to sign the Declaration which had been presented for their consideration. For hours the talk was treason and its price the headsman's axe, the gallows and noose. The talk went on and decision was not forthcoming. Then, Jefferson writes, a voice was heard coming from the balcony:

They may stretch our necks on all the gibbets in the land. They may turn every tree into a gallows, every home into a grave, and yet the words of that parchment can never die. They may pour our blood on a thousand scaffolds and yet from every drop that dyes the axe a new champion of freedom will spring into birth. The words of this declaration will live long after our bones are dust.

To the mechanic in his workshop they will speak hope; to the slave in the mines, freedom; but to the coward rulers, these words will speak in tones of warning they cannot help but hear. Sign that parchment. Sign if the next moment the noose is around your neck. Sign if the next minute this hall rings with the clash of falling axes! Sign by all your hopes in life or death, not only for yourselves but for all ages, for that parchment will be the textbook of freedom the bible of the rights of man forever.

Were my soul trembling on the verge of eternity, my hand freezing in death, I would still implore you to remember this truth God has given America to be free. As he finished, the speaker sank back in his seat exhausted. Inspired by his eloquence the delegates rushed forward to sign the Declaration of Independence. When they turned to thank the speaker for his timely words he couldn't be found and to this day no one knows who he was or how he entered or left the guarded room.

Here was the first challenge to the people of this new land, the charging of this nation with a responsibility to all mankind. And down through the years with but few lapses the people of America have fulfilled their destiny. - Ronald Reagan

Ronald Reagan knew that God had inspired and blessed this nation...............so does FreeRepublic!

Just think of all the quotes President Bush has already not even 9 months into his term.He has also achieved the highest approval ratings of all time I believe.8 years of squirt produced such gems as what does is mean and I did not have sex with that woman and oral is not sex.HaHa

President Bush could very well become the greatest P this nation has ever seen.With Gods help of course. And I believe he has that.I am so proud of him.

I almost hate to bring up his name again but the basterd son of the drunken whore from Arkansas is on his knees cursing his god, lucifer right now for not doing this on his watch.

If tomorrow all the things were gone
I worked for all my life
and I had to start again with just my children and my wife.
I thank my lucky stars to be living here today
cause the flag still stands for freedom
and they can't take that away.
From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee,
across the plains of Texas,
from sea to shining sea
from Detroit down to Houston
and New York to LA well
there's pride in every American heart
and it's time that we stand and say
that I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free
and I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me
and I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today
cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,

God Bless the USA

Thank you Lee Greenwood.
