To: WIMom; Everyone
I had 2nd thoughts while getting ready to leave. That is not the picture I want to leave you with. This is.
![](http://www.allwall.com/images/PRODUCTS/shdws/large/10065000/10065340.jpg)
"...After the Declaration of Independence was signed, Virginia statesman John Page wrote to Thomas Jefferson:
'We know the race is not to the swift nor the
battle to the strong.
Do you not think an angel rides
in the whirlwind and directs this storm?'
Much time has passed since Jefferson arrived for his inauguration.
The years and changes accumulate.
But the themes of this day he would know:
our nation's grand story of courage and its simple dream of dignity.
We are not this story's author, who fills time and eternity with his purpose.
Yet his purpose is achieved inour duty,
and our duty is fulfilled in service to one another.
Never tiring, never yielding, never finishing, we renew that purpose today,
to make our country more just and generous, to affirm the dignity of our lives and every day life.
This work continues. This story goes on.
And an angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm."
President George W. Bush--Inaugural Address--January 20, 2001With your Donation, the FReeRepublic will ride this storm.

Normally I would have agreed with you - but it just didn't seem right - and besides, my birthday is next week - so I'm particularly aware of my age. The fact I haven't had much sleep this week, with what is going on in and having a sick child, is definitely making me feel my age.

I loved President Bushs' speech, that day, and every day since. What he said, standing on that pile of rubble the other day, should be remembered, forever.
To: WIMom
Let's try that again.
BTW, it was a class act that the Journal Sentinel did this morning. One more thing, the memorial service is going on now in Madison. Fox6 and the PBS stations are carrying it. Shame on 4 (NBC), 12 (ABC) and 58 (CBS).

Here's what they've been saying about President Bush...
Fineman says Bush is "exceeding expectations, learning on the run before our eyes. . . . his feet were on the ground, his bearings set: a late bloomer blossoming in the nick of time. ... Cheered on by voters hopes, hed become, in the words of a priest at the National Cathedral, "our George: the designated dragon slayer, a boyish knight in a helmet of graying hair."

Lunchtime (out west) BUMP!
To: Letitring
Somewhere I read, and I can quote it exactly, but the gist is: I would rather have a leader who thought first, then acted than a leader who acted without thinking. I.E., President Bush vs x-42.

AMEN. I've thanked God, daily, several times a day, we don't have to go through this under Clinton and Co.
