Sorry I haven't been here for a while. How's the fundraising been going?
$40,000.00
.
Here is the truth.
Many of these 63 Freepers give a lot more than a dollar a day. They average closer to three dollars a day.
This amounts to more than 1/4 our annual needs/ budget.
All together about 1,000 Freepers and Lurkers fund the Free Republic.
Where oh where are the other 60,000+++?
In our time of great need, isn't it time you Freeploaders tossed a few bucks FR's direction?
'We know the race is not to the swift nor the
battle to the strong.
Do you not think an angel rides
in the whirlwind and directs this storm?'
Much time has passed since Jefferson arrived for his inauguration.
The years and changes accumulate.
But the themes of this day he would know:
our nation's grand story of courage and its simple dream of dignity.
We are not this story's author, who fills time and eternity with his purpose.
Yet his purpose is achieved inour duty,
and our duty is fulfilled in service to one another.
Never tiring, never yielding, never finishing, we renew that purpose today,
to make our country more just and generous, to affirm the dignity of our lives and every day life.
This work continues. This story goes on.
And an angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm."
We've hit $40,000? Seems that just a few days ago we were inching against $22,000.
Just an example of how the attack was counterproductive to the terrorist's cause. They wanted to make us shake in fear, but we are now united in courage. Isn't it great being an American?
When I first came, you didn't know Me,
You couldn't even call My name;
And though I was unfamiliar,
I was running through your veins.
Many have come against Me,
They fear My tidal pull,
For dreams live where I am,
They thrive, where I can rule.
I have seen many battles,
And have fought the foe, with strife,
Many fought hard, alongside Me,
Many gave their very life.
No one knows how many,
In quiet ways or loud,
Gave Me My place in history,
Made My existence proud.
The flower of this country,
The children of this land,
I pray will understand Me,
And will reach out for My hand-
For it's their heartening glances,
That put their trust in Me,
To shield them from oppression,
Abuse, and tyranny.
You see, I am your Freedom,
A gift from God above,
And though you may not know it,
It is Me, that you love.
So keep Me by your bedside,
Your table and your chair,
Keep My flame before you,
So that if men ever dare--
To snatch Me from your presence,
Do not hesitate to stand,
Yes, stand up for your Freedom,
And preserve Me in your land.

I fervently hope that every dime will be multiplied, and that, by the grace of God, things won't wear out as quickly; appliances, cars, whatever, will run longer and stronger; we will be healthy; and the seeds we sow will reap a bountiful harvest! If God is for us, who can stand against us? God bless you!
George Washington--July 2, 1776--General Orders in which he urged his troops to "greater levels of exertion".
The ability to worship where, when and how.
The ability to travel and move where, when and how.
The ability to go to school.
The ability to pursue a choosen career.
The ability to live wherever.
The ability to learn, read and hear.
The ability to disagree with others.
The ability to have Freedom.
