My country, 'tis of thee, Sweet land of Liberty,

Of thee I sing;

Land where my fathers died,

Land of the pilgrims' pride,

From every__    mountain side

Let__  Freedom ring.

Thank you Patriotic American FReepers! (even if you're in another country)

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:

He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;

He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:

this truth is marching on.

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

His truth is marching on.

I have seen him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps;

They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;

I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;

His day is marching on.

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

His truth is marching on.

I have read a fiery gospel, writ in burnished rows of steel:

"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;

Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,

Since God is marching on."

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

His truth is marching on.

He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;

He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:

O, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! Be jubilant, my feet!

Our God is marching on.

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

His truth is marching on.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,

With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me;

As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,

While God is marching on.

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

Glory, glory Hallelujah,

His truth is marching on.

If tomorrow all the things were gone
I worked for all my life
and I had to start again with just my children and my wife.
I thank my lucky stars to be living here today
cause the flag still stands for freedom
and they can't take that away.
From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee,
across the plains of Texas,
from sea to shining sea
from Detroit down to Houston
and New York to LA well
there's pride in every American heart
and it's time that we stand and say
that I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free
and I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me
and I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today
cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,

God Bless the USA

Thank you Lee Greenwood.

Thanks for the 'bumps' and contributions to this and the previous thread. Avoiding the FReeper 'funkle' is the biggest challenge as the lights go out across the heartland.

O__ say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,

What so proudly we hailed,

at the twilight's last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes and bright stars,

Through the perilous fight,

O'er the ramparts we watched,

were so gallantly streaming?

And the rocket's red glare,

the bombs bursting in air,

Gave proof through the night,

that our flag was still there.

O say, does that__ star - spangled banner_ yet_ wave_

O'er the land___ of the free,

and the home of the brave?

No arsenal or no weapon in the arsenals of the world is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. - Ronald Reagan

Thank you!

You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done. - Ronald Reagan

I'm checking in and bumping for bucks. Please do the same when you get a chance.

Since there was no pro or college football this weekend, I went to a high school football game tonight. It was good to see a hard fought game even though my team came up on the short end.

Lurkers, please donate to Free Republic. Thanks alot!

Never thought I would say this, but I saw a beautiful cartoon in our paper today, titled "Picking up the pieces," it was a mans hand picking up the pieces... every piece was heart shaped.
