"I believe it is you who owes us. But I shall forgive your ignorance." We don't owe you anything. If it were not for us you'd be speaking German now. Or maybe even Spanish. Why don't you go hang out on some Limey site you anti-American puke? We don't need you. We don't want you. And your beer sucks.

Jaxter: Just wanted to let you know how much I rely on your British newspapers for real world news. For the past few years our papers think all we need to know is the latest sex scandals. And I'm sure that since you seem to have a backbone, you will shortly be banned (and me too). So nice meeting you in cyberspace. After midnight here. Logging off.
To: Topaz
I hope that Free Republic will continue to encourage posters to judge all people living in America as individuals and be very careful to monitor posts that offer blanket generalizations about Americans that may have come from a muslim nation.
Topaz, nice sentiments but if the gung-ho cr*p I have been reading over the last couple of days is anything to go by you haven't got a prayer.

Re your post #258 -- will do. :)

Sorry, my last post was meant for jjbrouwer.
To: Ms Mellie, Jim Robinson
Ms Mellie, thank you for your kind words. I doubt very much either of us will be banned - just for exercising our opinions.
After all this is the land of the free.
To: Ms Mellie
Goodnight to you ma'am.

freedom is a liability and a luxury that we simply cannot afford.Do you think your freedom to reveal troop movements overrides the freedom of a soldier to expect the people he is fighting for to help protect him as he goes to battle?
Apparently a lot of FR people need a course in how to act during wartime. It all comes down to respect, duty and sacrifice. We respect the people who go to fight for us, they have their duty and we have a duty to help them from the homefront. They sacrifice and risk their lives for us, we can sacrifice our need to talk about where they are fighting to protect their safety.
If people are not willing to do that little for our soldiers and our country, they don't deserve having people do battle for them. I suggest they sign up immediately and play their wargames in the real war.

I wouldn't be placing any bets.

Topaz, nice sentiments but if the gung-ho cr*p I have been reading over the last couple of days is anything to go by you haven't got a prayer. Usually Free Republic's posters are a very logical bunch and there is very little racism and generalizing, but it has been a very stressful and emotional week. I have seen it in your posts as well.
In a few days people will think more clearly and the stepping over the line will end.

Having tasted American beer more times than I care to remember this is rather amusing!
And I am in no way anti-American, just because I don't suck up to the boss in the sycophantic way you seem to think appropriate. Creep.

"After all this is the land of the free." No thanks to you. When did you ever actually help us out in a war? I don't recall seeing you in Vietnam, though I do remember seeing a few Aussies and Koreans. And we're supposed to count on you in a war?

I'm a betting man. The Brits are on your side anyway.
To: JA
Sorry, Jim, but its not time to roll over and be a gov't lackey yet. Not very bright, are you?
This isn't about being a "government lackey".
It's about doing the responsible thing.
Clearly, you're not yet mature enough to understand what "acting responsibly" means.

What did that 'war' have to do with Britain. Judging by the pig's ear you made of that campaign you would be well advised to follow our lead.
To: Jim Robinson
We were victims of an unprecedented, pre-meditated surprise attack, perpetrated by hostile, cowardly foreign parties. This attack may not have been in the military scale and scope of a Pearl Harbor, but in terms of lives lost and impact on the nation and the world it is every bit as severe. Thank you for posting this, Jim. I am of the opinion that this attack was ten times worse than Pearl Harbor.
Things are very bad; but good will prevail.

"And I am in no way anti-American, just because I don't suck up to the boss in the sycophantic way you seem to think appropriate. Creep." You are indeed anti-American. I'm sure most Brits are fine people and I've always thought they were reliable allies. But if you're any indication of the caliber of the current British citizen, excuse me, subject (you're not allowed to own firearms, right?) then I believe I wouldn't want to share a foxhole with you.

For your information I spent two years in New York. I probably know more about the place than you do.
To: Topaz
How about 'scrambled brains and loose fingers sink ships'? Think about the info you may be giving to our enemy.
Bump and God Bless America. Pray for our country and our citizens.

There are probably some books that should be burned. ie
"Heather has two mommies" it was just one book that ushered in political correctness. The beginning of the new Dictionary of the Clinton era.
