Here's one ex-Catholic-now-Protestant who must point out that the beautiful, art-filled cathedral yesterday where the excellent service was held was a Protestant (Anglican) one, although it has always been a place where all Americans could turn on a day like yesterday. Despite presence or absence in church of decorations and ritual, the important part of any service should be the focus on the fact we're all dependent on God - even though we may not realize it until times like this. Hope all the people in the US will remember how they feel this week and that it makes a difference in how we see the world and how we act toward each other. Barbara Olson will never be forgotten as long as people think back to this tragedy, which we will do for many years. People remember Pearl Harbor and JFK's death as days that the world changed; this is one of those world-changing events.

It was so heartbreaking to see him being interviewed yesterday. I don't know how he is doing it?

As I've listened to her husband, her friends and collegues remember her this week I've been struck by how she was exactly the person she seemed to be. Certainly she was a lovely, brilliant and accomplished person that was clearly apparent to all. But in today's memorial service it was her cheerful spirit, her faith, her goodness and her passion for life that everyone recalled. While a tireless crusader on behalf of her strongly held heliefs she was a warm and gracious lady always. She really was all about Love, as evidenced by her courageous last minutes in the face of such evil, Love for her husband and her country, Love of truth and for others.

Barbara Olson will be missed, for she was a powerful force, a powerful force of Love.

The very last caller on that C-Span show called her a "witch on a witch hunt," and then went on to hurl all kinds of insults at Barbara. Mrs. Olson smiled quietly and graciously. I have to wonder as thousands, no millions, mourn the death of Barbara Olson, how many will mourn when that horrible "last-caller" dies? Bless all who knew her personally, we grieve with you.

LOSING BARBARA, MAKES IT PERSONAL!

I am very sorry for all victims of this horror. I (fortunately) have lost no family or aquaintences, but I am moved for them all. Barbara was the only name I recognized, and just from FOX tv appearances, that I always payed a little more attention when Barbara was on.

She had a way of speaking with a smile and soft voice, while celebrating conservatism and mocking liberalism, such a delight to hear and watch.

BACK TO THE TOP! BARBARA, YOU ARE MISSED!!!

She will be greatly missed and her death is a great loss to America and to Conservative causes.

I was priviledged to meet her and her husband twice, each, initaily separately, the second time they were together at the U.S. supreme Court (afer the last Court session in June 2001);

the last time I saw Ted & Barbara, was on June 29th at the US Supreme Court after the final seesion of the last Supreme Court Session.

Her book

"Hell to Pay" about Hillary Clinton,

is indicative of her courage, uniqueness, and outspokenness.

IMPORTANT:

We must offer comfort & deepest condolences to Ted Olsen, her husband, the Solicitor General of the U.S. who argued, brilliantly,

Bush V. Gore before the U.S. Supreme Court, twice, and

WON!

Barbara Olson represented the "lady" conservatives of America. I did not know her personally but felt as though I did. Having watched her commenting on so many shows and in agreement with everything she said.

I was lurking here on the day of the attack and saw where someone had posted about her maybe being on one of the planes and thought..this just can't be true.

Unfortunately I was wrong.

This brilliant lady, her life cut short is another tragedy in this still unfolding tragedy. May her husband, Ted, feel our love.

If anyone here has not bought and/or read "Hell to Pay" written by her, I highly recommend it. A superb read and so full of truth.

R.I.P.

AT THE BEGINNING OF THE THIRD MILLENNIUM
NOVO MILLENNIO INEUNTE
January 10, 2001
Pope John Paul II

Excerpt from the letter...

41. May the shining example of the many witnesses to the faith whom we have remembered during
the Jubilee sustain and guide us in this confident, enterprising and creative sense of mission. For the
Church, the martyrs have always been a seed of life. Sanguis martyrum semen christianorum:25
this famous "law" formulated by Tertullian has proved true in all the trials of history. Will this not also
be the case of the century and millennium now beginning? Perhaps we were too used to thinking of
the martyrs in rather distant terms,
as though they were a category of the past, associated especially
with the first centuries of the Christian era. The Jubilee remembrance has presented us with a
surprising vista, showing us that our own time is particularly prolific in witnesses, who in different
ways were able to live the Gospel in the midst of hostility and persecution, often to the point of the
supreme test of shedding their blood. In them the word of God, sown in good soil, yielded a hundred
fold (cf. Mt 13:8, 23).
By their example they have shown us, and made smooth for us, so to speak,
the path to the future. All that remains for us is, with God's grace, to follow in their footsteps.
