"Great tragedy has come to us, and we are meeting it with the best that is in our country, with courage and concern for others. Because this is America. This is who we are. This is what our enemies hate and have attacked. And this is why we will prevail. "
Exactly.

The Presidents speach may be summed up in two words ... True Grit!
Luke 22:36 (KJV) --Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
Got sword? (M1 Garand ==>CMP)
No mercy, no quarter!
May the jihadists burn in hell for eternity!
Help speed them on their way!
Molon Labe!

Fox News had an interview after this address. Additional lines from the interview include:
We will find them, smoke them out of their holes, and get them on the run.
To everyone who wears the uniform, I say: "Get ready."
I am not telling you (the media) ANYTHING if it will compromise the safety of the troops or our allies. (HAHAHA!....Miss Marple)
There is no doubt that we are at war, regardless of the lack of a formal declaration.

God Bless President Bush!

Each statement from the President seems more firm than the one before.
I note with approval no more language of "retaliation." Instead, Mr. Bush is asking us to look forward to an offensive campaign to "eradicate" this evil.
This will be hard. It is also the right thing to do.
Best wishes, and prayers to you, Mr. President.

We need a transcript of that press conference that was at Camp David this morning. I particularly like what President Bush said when a report asked what we were going to do and what he was preparing. He said something to the effect that this is not an administration that announces what its plans are (meaning movement of troops, etc.) or tells you how we know what we know (or something to that effect). He then said when it is the appropriate time for you to know, we will tell you. He said he will do nothing that would endanger the lives of our men and women in uniform and our allies. Reporter had no follow up question to that firm reply. Good for you Mr. President!!!

Those who make war against the United States have chosen their own destruction. Victory against terrorism will not take place in a single battle, but in a series of decisive actions against terrorist organizations and those who harbor and support them.Bump.

What? No Democratic/Socialist response? Was Rep. Barbara Lee of Oakland, Calif., busy getting her nails done?

NBC's Campbell Brown (sneering chick covering the prez) said in showing Dubya at the National Cathedral that "he had never sounded so determined."
Once again, the press underestimates the Prez. Those who know him say that beneath the friendly, warm, and genuine exterior lies a heart of "sheer determination." As one person said in an old interview, "You do NOT want to stand between Bush and anything he intends to achieve." Others have described him as THE MOST single-minded achiever in the entire family. When he sets his mind to something, he will not be deterred.
This goes back to my backing of him even before he'd formally declared. When you've got someone who is THAT determined, you've got a winner. Prove me wrong.

You're quite right. There was no Democrat response. I guess they've decided to get out of the way, at least for the time being.

Determined is certainly what the president sounded in the radio address. If you follow the link at the top of this thread, there appears to be a link to an audio file of the address, for anyone who wants to hear the president deliver it.
