"Don't make me go to washington!!!! I'm SKEERED!!!!" Who are you imitating -- certainly not President Bush who
reluctantly followed the advice of the Secret Service rather than follow the time table dictated by Brokaw, Jennings, Brian Williams and Dowd.
what has he DONE, other than tuck his tail between his legs, shiver, quake and whine At the time word of the assault was whispered in his ear, he was reading to school children. Rather than frighten then, he continued reading and then excused himself by announcing he had to return to DC -- WHICH WAS HIS INTENTION ALL ALONG.
I can assure you that the people of NY weren't looking for our President as the towers crumbled. He was the furthest thing from our minds as we clinged to phones waiting to hear from loved ones (in my case two family members - firefighters - who weren't able to call for nearly 12 hours).
BTW, I'd much rather have a man spend his time communicating with foreign leaders to get consensus than to be involved with photo ops which will only please the ignorant. Leave that to the Xlintoons and Schumer who do it masterfully and leave the job of leading to our President.
Howlin, haven't seen the polls but don't doubt they've risen!

I remember (during the debates) how Bush managed to "connect" - using his own words, lots of eye contact with the cameras. Every speech since then has been sort of stilted. I think he should give up the scripted speeches, speak his mind and his heart, and he'll be able to connect with more people.

What has he DONE, other than tuck his tail between his legs, shiver, quake and whine In case you don't know the difference, this was no natural disaster like an earthquake or tornado. This was an act of war by terrorists. I'm sure the president has been extremely busy since these events happened, and not receiving services from an intern while on the phone like X42. You are on the wrong website.

Has Clinton apologized to the nation yet for ultimately bringing this upon us?

Regarding tornados and presidents: I agree with what you said about costs. Of course, the other reason why Bush shouldn't have gone to NYC or DC right away is that (even now) he's still a target. Terrorism and natural disasters are not the same thing (but you knew that already - that's for other posters who don't have a clue).
Clinton can go where he pleases because he's no threat to his "friends".
To: radwriter
You're concerned about the war on drugs now?! Clinton told the London Times that we should be worried about 'global warming' last week, continuing his post-presidency efforts to undermine the President (and our nation) internationally. He is a traitor. This man did more to tear apart our nation in 8 years (with the help of the media) by pitting every group against each other for political gain. We must stand together against the terrorists. Clinton is a wound to our nation that will not heal with his continued presence in our nation and in the press.
To: radwriter
Whatever. Your colors have been shown. I'll let history be the judge of W v. the Sink Emperor as presidents as opposed to semantic debates with disruptors on previously budgeted items and somesuch....

He's back there patting their hands while Bush actually is trying to act to stop future bloodshed. I'm sure that would make me feel so much better if I had just had tons of brick fall on me. The totally ineffective former prez comes to let me cry on his shoulder... what does he think he has, the midas touch??? And where is Swillary? Not comforting constituents, surely. She doesn't want to stay home and bake cookies you know.

I truly hope and trust GWB "will do the right thing".
Clinton is an irrelevancy just trying to extend the limelight.
5,000 American citizens have been murdered.
It's 2001, not 1999.
What GWB does in response(or does not do) will be HIS defining moment!
To: walruseyes
Oh, Yeah...just what we need, a President who wipes a tear, tours all the sites, etc....and "feels our pain." What we need is what we've got.....a President, real PRESIDENT, who is BUSY WORKING TO RESPOND, NOT TO EXPOSE HIS "FEELINGS." I WANT A THINKING PRESIDENT!!! Thank God, we have one.
To: Mugwort
Oh great. Pres. Bush delays until tomorrow in order to not interrupt hunt for the survivors, and Klintoon shows up. Oh, yuk. #42 just can't help quivering his lip wherever he gets the chance. Photo hog.

I have a barf bag for you. I keep them by my TV - everytime I see the Beast I start woofing chunks!

He needs to show some emotion Panty waist Clinton was great at this. Remember Ron Browns funeral??? I'll take a little substance over your touchy-feely crap anyday. He can stay cold as ice as long as the culprits are pursued and destroyed.
And you have been a member of Free Republic since??

Try to be a little more rational in your approach. Your "argument" promotes gender stereotypes by sounding like a wife defending her husband. Obviously the issue is whether he DID the right thing--not whether he was SINCERE in THINKING it was the right thing.

"He was hugging victims! BARF!"
Victims that he is partially responsible for. Send him to Afghanistan.

I am disgusted - HE is disgusting. Who the heck cares where he is or what he thinks? Who needs him?
