I think you're right. This from a liberal? Maybe there is hope.
What WE can do today...
It's obvious the terrorist attacks on America Tuesday, were designed to create economic havoc within our borders, perhaps even cause a depression. It is the duty of every American to not allow that to happen. If our buying habits are curtailed, our economy will suffer, and they will have won.
With all the "breaking news," it's difficult to turn off the television, and go buy that special item you had planned on purchasing . . . or just to take the family out to dinner. We encourage everyone to Fly "Old Glory", and continue on as you always have. To all that have lost family, loved ones, and friends, we offer this special prayer:
A Prayer for America:

To our enemies, we need this attack to simply be a minor economic speed bump that has awakened a sleeping GIANT that is united in it's resolve.
"The deliberate and deadly attacks . . . were more than acts of terror. They were acts of war. The United States of America will use all our resources to conquer this enemy. We will rally the world. We will be patient. We'll be focused, and we will be steadfast in our determination. This battle will take time and resolve, but make no mistake about it, we will win."
- President George W. Bush
"In this storm-tossed world of terrorists and totalitarians, America must always champion freedom, for freedom is the one tide that will lead us to the safe and open harbor of peace."
- Ronald Reagan
"The American People are slow to wrath, but when their wrath is once kindled it burns like a consuming flame."
- Theodore Roosevelt
Please pass this message on to all on your e-mail list.
Thanks for the advice. I certainly will pass this along.
May God bless and care for your son in his service to our country. Take care, good lady.

Food for thought... imagine we could easily move and group together with those of like mind. All those in favor of trying to understand the terrorist mindset and through discussion solve the problem would be in one area of the country. Those of us who believe retaliation must be swift and sure, leaving no doubt that a payment will be extracted from those who attack us would be in another part of the country. I know to which part of the country I would go.
Funny, all of a sudden they were saying they didn't mean that we shouldn't exact retribution, only to be careful not to lump all Arab/Muslim people in the same category and be prejudiced.
I am discouraged, I'm seeing too much of the cowardly stance of the critics coming forward hidden by criticisms of Bush. How easy to find complaints against your president to justify your efforts to prevent going after the terrorists. Too many people in America are probably tied to Bin Laden and will come forth with some reason to not support Bush.
We are in for a hard time because America is not the America we have known. America is full of selfish, socialistic whiners or whiners that are unhappy because this government or any government will never fit their view of government. We don't have the moral courage needed to beat these terrorists.
Sorry this is so negative - but I would have expected a unity of support - yet all I see are stupid comments of a president crying in front of a nation, a president who appears stiff and robotic, or comments if Bush does this when I think he should do _____, then I will support him.
We need that support now - but it is not there. I don't know that it will be worth our time to fight - might as well give up now.
I have to say I've found most of the Dimwits I know remarkably civil through all of this. One even took down the "Bush or Chimp?" poster from her office door ... that still doesn't mean I TRUST them.
Exactly. There was a thread here just about a month ago taken from one of their sites that showed that they thought that *they* were the patriots and we were the traitors. I hope that this is more than temporary, but I'll cross my finger instead of holding my breath.
Those who stand in Bush's way and try to keep him from retaliation may find their voter base has changed a little bit. As earlier posters pointed out, Mr. Pitts is a liberal, and yet he is as hawkish about this as we are on FR. Perhaps Biden and others like him should pay attention.
That is a real part of THIS story, that a black liberal is talking just like us.
I always thought the libs were delusional. That just proves it.
