God bless ya...............in a big way. I thank you for sharing this with us. You make it sound like "no big deal", etc., but I assure you that ANY of us would have found this to be a hugely traumatic experience.

welcome home bump

Wow. Thank you for sharing your personal story. It is hard for me to imagine even now.

This reports what the followers of allah can do to hate and murder; whereas the true prophet Jesus Christ came to give us life and that more abundantly. He said: "In the world you will find tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

OK. It took me a while to get these pics posted. I just didn't have the strength or the will to deal with it.But I scanned them today, and so here they are.
Huck's photos from 9-11-01
These are from down by South Street Seaport, after the first time I left my building, right after the South Tower was hit:
The next one is from back at my building; this is from the conference room on my floor, the 51st:
Next is the collapse of the South Tower, as I was on my way out of the building. Compare it to the previous one, and you can see how lower Manghattan was enveloped in ash and debris:
Next, some pictures as we headed up the East River Drive towards the Brooklyn Bridge:
Looks like a snowstorm:
This next one is my favorite picture. We were walking along, and I was running out of film. I stopped real quick, reached my arm out and took this portrait of me and my boss. The look on his face is something else. I showed this picture to a friend and he didn't even realize it was me. The look of consternation on my face made me somewhat unrecognizable I guess. Glad I took this one:
And this was the last picture. The camera is pointed north, as we headed up the East River Drive. Pretty scary. It must have been about 10am or so. Just a few minutes later we watched the North Tower collapse. I was out of film by then, but I think we have seen enough of that anyway. This is my second favorite picture though, because it was the scariest part of my day, and I think it shows.
So that's it. I am still shaking my head from all this, as I am sure you are too. But as the man said, we will prevail.

It was a most remarkable account when you posted in September and the photos were certainly worth the wait. Thanks for the reminder of what what was, little more than a couple of months ago, Huck. We must not forget as we sit down to give thanks for our blessings as Americans this week.
