I have plenty of ammo . . . I'm counting it now Counting it? I spent part of my morning before going in to work for a half day, LOADING magazines. Gave away most of my 7.62x39, only have a box or two of that left, but have the better part of a case of .308, plenty .45ACP including various hollow point designs. Also loaded up a few magazines, far from all I have magazines or ammo for them, of .30 Carbine, loaded all soft points but have FMJ also. Carbine went to work with me. That's legal here, although if discovered, it could get me canned, but as the head security guy (physical and information) said during my inbrief to the company, "we aren't going to check your trunk". Would have preferred one of the .45s, but since I don't have a CHL, wouldn't be going to the range nor "traveling", I decided to take the carbine instead. Pistols would have been less obtrussive carrying to the car of course, but in a pinch .30 carbine will do the job, might just have to make more holes, although soft points should help with that problem.

But don't start shooting the neighbors who come over to return your wrench.
LOL, that was quite funny, no I will not open fire on my neighbor, but if you see strangers in your neighborhood, just be EXTRA alert. These terrorists are dangerous, and always have been. They have a victory, and now they will have the morale, to do what they might not have done before.

Prepared for what? You can't always know. If you are prepared and didn't need to be, only a little time is lost, 'cause you'd probably shoot up the ammunition anyway. If you aren't prepared and need to be, you're in a world of hurt, and so may be those around you.
But to paritialy answer your question, I'd say there could, although it looks less likely now than early this afternoon, be more attacks, maybe on the street on your way home, or where you work, etc. Or their might be folks trying to take advantage of the situtation, wouldn't even have to be associated with the original attackers.

I never liked K-Mart and hardly ever enter one.Now--"Nevermore".
On Larry King Live tonight, friend of Olson's told about Barbara getting two cell phone calls off to Ted. She said the hijackers had box cutters and knives? No mention of guns.
Gun-confiscation nuts try to use everything.
Also, the organized Muslim community made a statement early this morning denouncing the terrorism. They can't all be blamed, just like the Jap Americans in WWII.

Local anti-gun bigot company called Hechingers went bankrupt several years ago. Ha, ha, ha, ha!
Let's see if we can facilitate K-Mart's demise in our local communities nationwide like we have done to several so-called "grassroots" Million Moo March organizations. :-)

Kmart is closing shop in my area. They are becoming irrelevant. I am still wondering what is the relevance of keeping guns away from legal eagles in times of distress, what is Kmart trying to achieve? Common sense or politics? To me this is politics ... very odd.

This is HorseHillary. K-Mart announced a couple of months ago that they were going to quit selling guns and ammunition.

"Kmart extends its deepest sympathies to the people affected by today's tragic incident." If every passenger and flight member was carrying, I don't think any of this would have happened. Do you? So much for removing guns for our own protection. THEY USED KNIVES!!

"The safety of our customers and our associates is our first priority," Then why are they refusing their customers the tools they need to defend themselves from scrots like the ones making such a mess today? They don't always use hijacked aircraft you know.
I agree. I have bought from Kmart, just a little .22 plinker rifle. I thought I was supporting their support of my rights. I guess I was wrong. I will not be a Kmart shopper any time soon unless an apology is forthcoming.

They have a victory, and now they will have the morale, to do what they might not have done before Food for thought.
P.S. I'm glad you picked up on the humor. Most of the time I am too dry and deadpan for people to understand.

took the words out of my mouth. those idiots should be removing knives from their shelves, not guns.
To: sneakypete
They announced no HANDGUN ammo a couple of months back. They were still selling rifles, shotguns, and ammo for that.....until today.

"By now we'd be under martial law with BATFinks going door-to-door confiscating private weapons." That may yet come. I can see things headed in two potential directions. Either a martial law type lockdown (whatever they choose to term it), with private firearm ownership prohibited, or (and possibly more likely), an Israeli-type acceptance of private citizens owning and carrying everywhere.

Kmart is a private company and as such has the right to decide not to sell anything it wants to, at any time, for any reason. Even totally idiotic reasons such as deciding not to sell guns to American citizens "for their safety".
By the same token, the rest of us also have the right to decide not to patronize any of their establishments ever, ever again.

I cleaned my MBR (M1 Garand) last night. I have no idea why. Maybe a premonition?

I think the airlines should pass out weapons to the passangers, and have a shooting range at the airport for practice while you're waiting.
An armed society is a polite society.

>> Would you get on a plane in the next week?
Sure, as long as I don't have to go through the metal detector.
