"the old coven"

To what do you refer - and how long ago was that - and what did the 'coven' do?

One thing you can always do is send mail to Jim if you have a problem with moderator action.

Please read the article - you'll 'get it' perhaps, on why I don't give my normal posting handle. If not, please let me know. 8^)

You are most welcome. It is not an openly publish link, but one that is not, on the other hand, secret either.

If you try to get them to make me read your funnies, I will mash the abuse button on you, sure as the world. That is a scary thought you came up with. Moderators don't need that much power, you know. ;-)

[They have the button]

I have been trying to interest the management in buying one of my custom made signs as a safety device for that button. It reads, "WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T MASH THIS BUTTON".

What do you think? Is that a good safety idea?

To: Admin Moderator, all
I have a question/suggestion that you can bring up with the other moderators/and management: Since you guys can move things in and out of the sidebar, is it possible for you to move out a "thread one" of something placed in breaking news, once a "thread two" is posted there?

I don't know if anyone else thinks this is a good idea, so post your impressions. If you don't like my idea then I will promptly hit abuse, however. ;^)

I'm not sure what you mean by "management", (I'm assuming you mean Jim), and "coven" (I'm assuming mojo, Don M and navigator). However, you have no idea what you are talking about. The "coven" only had the arrogance to claim they were supported by Jim, and you know what their reasoning was? "Jim never told us to stop". If that's the hook you want to hang your statement AND your coat on, be my guest.

"is it possible"

Sure is - that is one of our jobs already. Often we don't see the new (or later higher) thread until after it has been there for a time. But rest assured, I remove older ones as soon as I see the new ones. Trouble is, I only look every 10 to 15 minutes - sometimes more. Got too many other things going.

Sometimes there are fewer moderators on than at other times, that also contributes to older multi-thread posts not being seen and removed. I would like to see the poster have the ability to remove his own posts from the sidebars if he sees the need to do so. That may come one day.

Thanks for answering. I have "Breaking News" issues...I like to keep that area nice and clean myself.

Thanks again.

There is a test page prior to posting. There is no view of deleted threads, otherwise why delete them?
