I realize it is difficult, but someone has to be Senior Moderator.

I congratulate you on the new job.

Do me a favor, Vermonter. You're good at reposts on the fund-raising threads, can you re-up this one? Seems my Freepmailbox is rather full of questions :) - and everybody and their cousin is banging on abuse! LOL

T'ain't me.

I'd have to pull 50% of my own posts.

And those are only the pantless references.

"How do I get a transfer out of this chicken sh*t outfit?"

Simple. Using the index digit of your right (or left) hand, apply a slight but quick momentary pressure on the switching mechanism of your computer's pointing device thereby instructing your browser to redirect you to a forum more to your taste. Thanks, Jim Robinson

The neat thing about being a moderator is the ability to post messages at the same time as moderating. Opps I just gave myself away. Quick... Where is that delete button.... Durn freshman privilages, help me pop. Delete this fast before I am exposed.

If you want to show your appreciation for all Jim does, stop by the FREEPATHON and throw a few bucks in the kitty.

Compliments don't pay the bills ;-}

Great article there. Thanks for the thread.

I'll tell you what I think JimRob likes more than anything else and anyone can correct me if I'm wrong but it's when people remember to turn off their formatting after they finish posting and if people will remember to do that(And I know it's easy to forget)it not only makes JimRob, myself and all the other freepers happy, but it also makes for an enjoyable internet experience for everyone here at Free Republic.
Regards

Well, let's put it this way, our moderators are NOT among the usual cast of characters.

Any way to enable the search function to go back more than one or two months? Say, 2 years?

Use this format to do a google search:

"What you want to search for"site:www.freerepublic.com

For instance, I pulled up 2,520 hits on myself by punching in the following:

"Larrylied"site:www.freerepublic.com

Hello Scuttle,

We must have had a miscommunication. The comments I refer to are entered by the moderator when the moderator performs an action-- this is a good thing.

I plan on adding an easy way for a banned user to contest a banning; this moderator-provided comment is crucial to those reviewing the action in question.

Everything I am adding here is intended to keep FR running smoothly, consistently, and mercifully, allowing plenty of opportunity to correct any mistakes made.

And most importantly, I aim to code plenty of checks and balances to prevent any sort of "coven" from forming.

Those directions are too technical for me to understand. Could you be little more specific in layman's terms? Thanks in advance.

Guess it's not Vermonter. Hmm, someone familiar with the FReepathon, knows Vermonter.

Funny how this hits right after my question on when someone will request Thread 2 runs smack into a Fred Mertz reply and loses the battle for #194 (VBG)

I am very happy with how Free Republic is run and managed. It is very impressive to think how many come here every day 24/7 and posts and threads run so smoothly.
You are doing a beautiful thing here and I thank you so much.

Thank you 68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub for the ping to the thread.

"Any way to enable the search function to go back more than one or two months? Say, 2 years?"

The threads can be searched by title, source, author, poster, etc., for the last two years by searching our archives (click on "Archives" at the top of the latest posts pages). We do not have the capability of searching on the reply index beyond about a week. Otherwise, you may use any of the Internet search engines to do a full text search.

For example: Using Google with the searchkey "site:freerepublic.com Freep the Creep" produces this: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=site%3Afreerepublic.com+Freep+the+Creep&btnG=Google+Search
