To: What about Bob?
Crowley also penned 'The Satanic Bible' Wrong. That was Anton LeVay.

Indeed -- Wood is engaging in the same sort of intellectual dishonesty as the people who claim that the Second Amendment is confined to the National Guard.

Thomas Merton said that if you follow that philosophy, you end up harming yourself and everybody in your life. Wish I knew the exact quote. From Seven Storey Mountain, I believe.

A Wiccan once told me "Half the people who call themselves Wiccans aren't really Wiccans". Several Christian have told me the same thing about their religion. Many who call themselves Christians aren't really Christians.

Thomas Merton said that if you follow that philosophy, you end up harming yourself and everybody in your life. Sorry, I've never heard of him.
Da_Shrimp says, 'no you don't'.
So, now Mr Merton and I are even.

Thomas Merton said that if you follow that philosophy, you end up harming yourself and everybody in your life.Actually that crapulous throwaway comment has annoys me more every time I think about it.
Hmm... let's see. I've been a practicing Wiccan for the last 15 years and Conservative most of my life.
I've been happily married to a wonderful woman for the last 12 years.
I have 4 beautiful children.
I'm highly sucessful at my job, never been unemployed, an abuser of alcohol or a drug taker.
Never been in trouble with the Police.
Yup, sounds like Thomas Merton is right with that one!
To: Da_Shrimp
You just hurt my feelings.

This article does not surprise me when I think about the general immorality and secular life that exists on our campuses. Everything ties in.

"Yup, sounds like Thomas Merton is right with that one! "
It is not over. You may have a beautiful life while living on this earth, but an eternity awaits. And eternity is for a long, long time.

You just hurt my feelings. If I have, then my apologies.
My comments were aimed more at Mr Merton's remark, than at you. It's unfortunate that you were the vehicle in which they reached my attention, so to speak!
To: Don Myers
And eternity is for a long, long timeIt is, indeed, I can't argue with you on that one ;-)
Anyway, I have to log off now (been keeping this window open during a slow time at work and it's time for home here).
Later...
To: Da_Shrimp
OK, catch you on the flip-flop.

To find the students who are religiously serious, one heads off campus to congregations such as the evangelical Park Street Church.
"Serious" is in the eye of the beholder.

You post factually incorrect statements, and I'm the idiot.
