Teter said investigators bought marijuana, acid, cocaine, mushrooms, amphetamines and prescription drugs. Oh yeah right, don't they know that marijuana is just a benign wonderweed which doesn't lead to harder drug use< /sarcasm >
Let the frothing mouths begin the beatification of St. Grover and St. Rolland.

I really have no idea but marijuana doesn't. IMHO, you shouldn't give up your day job just yet to become a comedian.

The
US/IOM study agrees with Riley1992.
"But the report concludes there is "no conclusive evidence that the drug effects of marijuana are causally linked to subsequent abuse of other illicit drugs."
"In fact, the report concludes, most drug users did not begin with marijuana but rather started by using tobacco and alcohol while they were underage."
But you go right ahead on pretending that it's a gateway drug. It would hurt to change your mind, even after looking at the facts.

On a statistical level, smokes and booze are far and away bigger "gateway drugs" than marijuana is.
If Marijuana DOES lead to harder drug use, it's probably because people try it, like it, say "Hey..this didn't kill me at all...D.A.R.E. obviously lied to me...I wonder WHAT ELSE they lied about.."
As ye sow, so shall ye reap. No wonder DARE lost it's funding...

Despite the injustice of this case, or maybe because of it, I am drawn to the sentence containing the words about the 1995 conviction for attempted assault with a deadly weapon? Can one be convicted of such a crime? How does one attempt an assault, and if one failed, how is one then convicted? Did someone witness the failure. Now that would dumb on the part of the attempter.
We aren't accusing the dead of being dumb, when many of us can understand how they would feel with the weight of the local and federal police bearing down on them for the last three years. Could we say they had about reached their limit, while committing what I will bet were misdemeanor crimes, they are treated like convicted felons, and then summarily executed. Case closed, problem solved.

The other reason it "could" be concieved as a gateway drug is because, once illegal, it forces otherwise law-abiding citizens into the "underworld". And, it just so happens that the guy yu buy your pot from probably has other drugs too. But, the biggest point is as you stated - when adults lie to kids about how dangerous something is - and the kids find out it's a lie (they ain't totally stupid) - then they figure your lying about all the rest too. Seems so simple to me. Don't know why some of the Drug Warriors around here can't figure that one out.....

Whatever is found, many still won't agree the men had to die. How do you feel about this statement, buttwipe?

Oh come on. They committed suicide. They knew what they were doing. If they didn't want to commit suicide, they wouldn't have come out with guns pointing them around. If they meant to have a shootout, they would have come out blasting.

Teter said investigators bought marijuana, acid, cocaine, mushrooms, amphetamines and prescription drugs. But Crosslin and Rohm were never caught selling, Teter said, so he couldn't charge anyone.
A bigger crock of sh!t I never heard.

"If they meant to have a shootout, they would have come out blasting"
Only if they'd been getting high on their own supply- if you mean to have a shootout you ought to fortify your position, set up a semiauto(s) w/100 rd mag & remote firing device in one location, and fire your own (suppressed) weapon(s) from cammoflaged loopholes.
These incidents often seem like Rodney King trying to fight 12 cops, or the guys on "Cops" who wait until they're handcuffed to start struggling.
The efforts of the shooters may seem heroic or stupid depending on your point of view, but they are remarkably ineffective.
