I respect your opinion, even though I strongly disagree. But that's not the point. If Bush is "destroying" the country, than what did Clinton do for 8 years? Are you suggesting Bush is just as bad as Clinton? To me that attitude reminds of Ralph Nader, who was so far to the left that he saw no distinction between Gore and Bush, despite their huge differences.
Well let's see now.... Bush isn't actively investigating anything Clinton. That makes him an accomplice to the entire eight year scandal, wouldn't you say?
Sound the alarm!! etc. etc. etc. ( yaaaawwwnnnn..)
You need rest.
Watching one manufactured crisis after another peter out, and all these hysterical accusations against Bush come to nothing, makes these people look like the desperate losers they really are.
I am truly embarassed for the Democrats and those gullible enough to be fooled by them...and I thank God I left the Democrat party years ago.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Not necessarily. But then again, neither standard applies to you, so it is a moot point.
I would have expected such a long hysterical rant had I actually bashed your boy on this thread. *sniff*
Instead you find yourself violently agreeing with what I did say. No I don't agree with this crap about incrementalism. REAL leaders aren't limp-wristed incrementalists. Lincoln's emancipation proclamation wasn't wimpish increntalism, neither was FDR's new deal or Johnson's war on poverty. Yeah conservatives hate the the last two. FDR and Johnson weren't pussy incrementalists, they were leaders of the opposition. It's too bad the current GOP leadership, including Bush, is a bunch of incrementalist pussies.
OK now your hysterical rant was justified.
Ahh another DU agent exposed by his own stupidity.
While the entire political process has been dragged to the left over the past 30 years by democrats, I wouldn't call Bush's policies leftist. For example, the following policies are not leftist:
1. Tax cuts for productive, upper-income people. 2. Support for National Missile Defense (instead of passively hoping that terrorists never fire a nuclear missile at us.) 3. Oil drilling in ANWR. 4. End to rediculous DOJ effort to break up Microsoft.
I can go on for a while longer but I've made my point. Beyond his policies, Bush is infinitely superior to Gore in character. (Just look at the way Gore attacked the military voters last Fall.) The most disturbing thing about the Democrats these days is how flagrantly dishonest they are. They'll say anything, no matter how untrue, to win a political fight and gain power. They don't care about truth any more, only power. That's the frightening reality of the Democratic party. Bush is far more honest and genuinely patriotic than Gore and the democrats.
Whoops... I'm sorry FDR and Johnson were ineffective milquetoast incrementalist leaders.
You don't even want the honest truth about the opposition let alone you're-soon-to-be-forgotten-"Chester A. Arthur"-boy-unless-he-grows-some.
We happen to have surplus. Where's the spending cuts?
2. Support for National Missile Defense (instead of passively hoping that terrorists never fire a nuclear missile at us.)
3. Oil drilling in ANWR.
4. End to rediculous DOJ effort to break up Microsoft.
All great. I agree.
However now what about Bush's support of...
1) A new prescription drug social entitlement.
2) The federalization of educational standards.
(nationalized testing) What happened to shutting down the Department of Education? Why a proposed $45 billion budget increase for this useless department? That's worse than even Clinton! 3) Federal funds for stem cell research.
4) Federalization of private charities. I thought the intent was to defund public programs. This is actually a new program with NO cuts in existing programs.
In all honesty what you list above that I agree with are 1 time decisions with immediate impact. What I list above are things that have awful long term repercussions. It seems to me that Bush is still playing the bread and circuses game.
