Have fun defending this. LOL! You must remember the news source is UPI - Nuff Said.
I think what you will see, hopefully, is some type of Parole not Amnesty. ALSO I don't believe that most of the illegals are even interested in permanent resident status or citizenship.
But the Jury is still out on this issue, except for the Bush haters on both ends of the political spectrum.

In light of your cruise-ship analogy, the passengers on that ship don't want to take out their own garbage, wash their windows, paint the walls, or cook the food.

I have but one question regarding illegals in the U.S. Why is the one word I NEVER hear.... DEPORTATION... ignored???? When I grew up in So Cal, that was a regular happening. What the hell ever caused that to stop? There was a legal guest worker program then that seemed to work well. Every summer there were many Mexicans picking the bounty of the multitude of citrus groves. The way it worked then was no proof of citizenship or guest worker status, immediate DEPORTATION back to Mexico. Just as simple today if they would just DO IT. By the way, of all the AMERICANS of Mexican descent I grew up with in the '50's and '60's, NONE of them think amnesty is proper and are as p*ssed as I am about the prospect.

Bush should insist on full reciprocity from Mexico. That'd cut their water off in a hurry. The number of Americans wanting to live or work indefinitely in Mexico isn't all that large, but it would be FUN to see Fox sputtering about Mexico's national sovereignty....

No, he said he is considering options. I have to believe that with 94% of the American public being against legalizing illegal aliens, I just can't see him doing it. But if he does, you'll hear from me.
