Ray Thomas writes many most excellent articles. I suggest that we support his work and editorial skills by visiting his site by the link above. He sounds like a lone cry in the wilderness, but if enough of us visit his site, his vioce would be heard.

Bump for this article....
But I contend that all-out war on US citizens was officially declared on January 20, 1993.
It has only gotten worse since.

This little paper has many good ones.

This article obviously strikes a chord. I posted this one yesterday as did another poster. There has been some excellent discourse following. Sorry, I don't know how to activate these links here.

I'll probably get flamed big-time for this ---
I believe the time has come for another Constitutional Convention -- a good start would be to abolish the 16th & 17th amendments, and all laws infringing on the 1st, 2nd, & 4th amendments. There are enough States in the "RED ZONE" to make this happen (2/3 & 3/4 majority) before it is too late ---- We'll all become slaves of the "Government Overseers", and be murdered by the "State" at their leisure!

Excellent essay! Thank you for posting it.

If you get a contitutional convention, I would bet my money on them scrapping all of the current ammendments and codifying 8 of the 10 planks of the communist manifesto.

But I contend that all-out war on US citizens was officially declared on January 20, 1993.Clintoon was only the latest in a long line of enemies of liberty. 80 years prior, in 1913, we got the income tax imposed on us, and the first shot in the insane War on Drugs (Harrison Narcotics Act) aimed at us. A few years later, the screws were tightened by the national nightmare of alcohol Prohibition. When that failed, FDR took over and saddled us with almost as much socialism as Stalin did to the USSR. During his watch, the screws were tightened still further with the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937. Fast forward to 1969: Nixon's dramatic escalation of the WOD. Murder rates rose dramatically - back to the level of Prohibition days. Later, our government goes on a jailing binge - over 2 million prisoners today - rising 1000% from 1980 to the present.
The War on Citizens is real. It just has its "useful idiots" on the conservative side that support it by supporting the INSANE WAR ON DRUGS.
Any conservative that continues to deny the effect that the War on Drugs has had on liberty is a HYPOCRITE of the worst order.

Yes, this is possible, but would'nt this "threat" be diminished by the "Red States" sending "conservatives" to the convention? Opinions?

To: gjenkins, vannrox, TheGrimReaper, Digger, sweetliberty, Jeff Head, lurker, coyote, Carbon, MileHi,
gjenkins, Yours is one statement that I totally agree with.
When the Senate voted to lower the inheritance tax for ten years this gave me an upset stomach wondering why only ten years. I believe I may have the answer now.
Someone, somewhere knew that the current 9 to 12 million illegal aliens would be freed from prosecution by the next President, Democrat or Republican. This will allow the "illegals" to bring in their immediate families without any difficulty. Get ready for another 30 to 50 million alien family members to enter America.
Now, assuming that these people will be primarily the parents, older brothers and sisters of the illegal aliens already here this will cause the need for medical care to rise tremendously. Reinstating inheritance taxes in ten years will help pay for this cost. These 30 to 50 million people plus the 9 to 12 million totals 39 million to 62 million people without any attachments to America's Constitution or Bill of Rights. therefore they will undoubtedly vote in programs that will encourage the government to take care of the people rather than the people controlling the cost of government. So, get ready for mandatory gun control in the next decade because these people along with the 95% of Americans who have never fired a weapon in defense of our country or for personal defense, are afraid of guns.
When this happens socialism will come marching in steady and strong. Then comes communism and the New World Order under control of the United Nations.
President Bush thinks that his support of the 2nd Amendment will gain him another term in the White House, by which time he will have crippled our country worse than Clinton did.
Can any of you tell me where I am off track in my thinking?

I will admit this is a good piece, but too through out our current government and start anew is not the answer.
If some of you people think this country is so bad, go live somewere else.
I've been to 20+ countries, and we have it made.
To: vannrox
HOWEVER IN THE WORLD COULD YOU THINK SUCH A THING?
MY GOVERNMENT WOULD NEVER DO THAT!
BUT THIS ISN'T MY GOVERNMENT.
I DON'T KNOW WHOSE GOVERNMENT IT IS.
ANYBODY OUT THERE KNOW?

I think the BEST way to get the government back under control is to have
the president revoke the War and Emergency Powers Act that, since 1933,
has kept our Constitution and Bill of Rights SUSPENDED.
(Senate Report 93-549 ,93rd Congress, 1st Session, 1973)
A good discussion of this can be found at:
War and Emergency Powers Act
The text of the book:
WAR AND EMERGENCY POWERS-
A SPECIAL REPORT ON THE NATIONAL EMERGENCY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
can be found at:
WAR AND EMERGENCY POWERS-A SPECIAL REPORT
Since those in DC are well aware of what this act does for them as far as
giving them power/jurisdiction over the citizens of this country, we can plan on it being
revoked only when we get a president that believes in Constitutional government in office.
NOT before.
