Rush Limbaugh, now I know who you are talking about. I do remember hearing about him before.

BTW, never let it be said that you are not a good sport. Some people just don't know good sarcasm when they see it. LOL

"Ya know, I hate these two line posts that do nothing to describe the action ... "

Actually - to me, the one or two line posts are the ones I scroll right by on ANY thread.

While brevity is the soul of wit, I do enjoy reading about people's thoughts on issues, and when I run across a thread where you've got an article, and then the first 45 posts are a BUMP list, it gets pretty frustrating. Add to that the one-line posts such as "LOL" and "ROFLOL" and pretty soon all you've got is a me-too thread.

Reminds me a lot of so many worthless posts on Usenet, where a poster will quote an entire 125-line article and then worthlessly append, "That's funny." In fact, many Usenet posters don't seem to know how to edit a Reply Window at all. That's what happens when a user boots up his Usenet client program and leaves in place the default setting of quoting the entire post being replied to.

Oh, well.

Michael

Was Rush on fire today? I haven't been listening much since Rush has been playing pass interference for Bush and the Republican status quo. Hell, Rush didn't even discuss 2nd Amendment gun rights issues until years into his program. I still don't know why he plays it "safe". If I had a $250 million dollar contract already signed and in the bag, I'd feel free to vent red hot conservative ideology, unless, the contract stipulated a hands off puss cake approach as the bottom line. I suspect this is the case since I cannot conceive any other reasonable explanation for holding back so much. Very, very few true conservatives that challenge the assumptions and propaganda of the so-called "conservative" status quo, get on Rush's show or are unceremoniously disconnected when they do. What is left is the usual, boring, predictable procession of either mutual admiration society types or the odd looney tunes liberal moron, both easy calls to take. For a powerful, serious, discussion of fundamental political issues, Rush's show ain't it. Sadly, many existing and new talk radio formats are also being toned down as well to avoid "controversy". However, since controversy is the life's blood of the interactive talk radio format, its removal means the dimunition or end of it in the long run. Of course the retort is to label we who are committed conservatives as loonies or misguided. Well, that only goes just so far before the "loonies" look elsewhere for information. Limbaugh, get a clue.

After yesterday's show where Rush and every caller appeared to be speaking underwater....this was no pleasant change.

Duly noted. When you get your $250 million contract, let me know, I can't wait to hear your brand of fiery conservatism.

Yeah... We used to get hand typed transcripts do describe a radio or TV event. But things move much faster than they did in the good old days around here. And that's not all a bad thing IMHO. We just need to adjust.

How about a vox recognition application on a persons machine, and play the audio into it? When a great clip worthy of recording comes along, one can post some text clips on the web..... within fair use of course....

Hey... I just had a thought. Maybe Paula Zahn is going to CNN to screen calls for Rush. ;-)

What a lead weight around the neck that would be......

I might not be able to when the official language of the United States becomes Spanish. But, at least we'll still be on top of the game of golf.

We all need to tell anyone who may listen that Social Security is a fraud, a political Ponzi Scheme contrived and mandated by socialists. Nothing about it actuarily sound. It is a socialist mechanism to buy today's vote with tomorrow's dollar. The Baby Boomer generation will break the bank.

The reason that the Democrats are so anxious about any "budget surplus", is that soon Congress must redirect general revenue taxes with FICA tax payments into the furure, because they have been redirecting FICA taxes into general revenue since FDR. There is no "trust fund", no "lock box", no truth that "a promise is a promise". The SCOTUS has ruled that the government owes no obligation to Social Security recipients for their taxes paid into the system over the decades. NOTHING.

Younger working taxpayers will be forced to support old folks with half their pay check rather than support their own young families, at the tax rate required to keep SS at current levels. It will happen until those younger tax payers refuse to pay or have the political voting strength to "stop payment". Only the greedy demand other peoples' money.

The SS idea is as bankrupt as the financial schemes to keep socialists in FICA tax money buying votes. Only the stupid don't know this.

Sorry about that, I can't transcribe his diatribe word for word, but it was a passionate anti-socialism rant of the first order. I still don't know which course he played last weekend though.

So hit the highlights! Otherwise, I can crack open Atlas Shrugged any time I want to get furnace blast of anti-socialism! :D
