Completely agree. My son is an Attorney and he really struggled with this when he was working with a firm that did a lot of criminal defense work. The firm he works for now doesn’t do criminal defense work so I don’t have to worry as much about something like this happening (he’s 6’4 260 so good luck trying to body slam him!).
“Police said Steinberg pushed Ashby back to create space”
It’s possible Uncle Body Slam can claim self defense since it appears the old lawyer put his hands on him first.
I hope the guy who attacked the attorney represents himself in court. Maybe he can write himself out a pardon in the sovereign citizen angle of law.
Criminals have the 'system'... we have nothing.
It's why the uncle was so angered. He knows nothing will justify his nephew's death. It's how we all feel
Maybe a wrong response, but understandable
Fixed it for you, and progtard attorneys (but I repeat myself), qualified immunity, and corrupt judges destroyed it.
AFAIC, the uncle is Not Guilty on all charges and counts. He is just doing the job “Civilization” failed to do.
Public officials, judges, and lawyers should leave the office everyday, terrified that the citizens are going to immediately hold them personally accountable for their work that day.
The same criminal justice system that's progressively failing before our eyes.
Publicly I say it’s reprehensible was the Uncle did…
“The attorney was just doing his job .”
“So were Nazi prison camp guards.”
You would not be a happy camper where you didn’t have a right to counsel.
And so he takes it out on the attorney. Great move.
Again, all the more reason I hope he represents himself at his trial.
“ Yeah, so were the concentration camp guards and gulag goons”
You wouldn’t be a happy camper without your 6th amendment rights.
As a defense attorney, I guess there’s a few folks on here I can cross off my list of people I’d represent.
Yeah, wouldn’t you do the same thing if somebody gave you a shove like that?
Maybe Steinberg shouldn’t have pushed Ashby back to create space? I assume this was in the courthouse where security abounds? Steinbergs not that tough, it appears, and should stick to lawyering, as he’s a terrible bodyguard.
LOL.
You wouldn’t be needed anyway, as their sovereign citizen pardons will save the day.
I had a sovereign citizen as a client once. That was, well, interesting.
There’s a couple down the road. One guy takes great pride in not having a state drivers license.
“Not justice.
The attorney was just doing his job .”

This. A thousand times, THIS!
Now if he had done the same to the guy who actually killed his nephew, I could be more sympathetic - but even that’s pure anarchy. We can’t have a system of justice if anyone out there can do whatever they think is right. Might as well bring back lynch mobs, and equip them with torches and pitchforks.
Othello: “First thing, kill all the lawyers”
A defense lawyer is not doing anything wrong - unlike Nazi death camp guards. In our system everybody is supposed to have a right to a free, fair and public trial. That means being represented by legal counsel. Let the jury determine their guilt or innocence.
Is there video? I’d like to judge the takedown for style points.
