The solution is a very limited modification of the filibuster:

“In the event of a government shutdown meeting or exceeding 45 days due to non-passage of a budget passed by the House, the filibuster is suspended for the sole purpose of voting on the unmodified House budget.”

The Senate has already nuked the filibuster to get judicial and other nominations confirmed. If Thune won’t agree to nuke on major bills, he needs to go. It’s a matter of survival.

This is why "Arkancide" is a thing. The democrats discovered long ago that the only way to keep their useful idiots in line was to murder the ones that stepped out of line. My observation is that they kill their own first, and those that remain become reliable to the cause. Unfortunately for republicans, we try to follow the edicts of our Creator and He forbids murder. It puts us at a disadvantage (at least in the short term) because democrats largely either don't believe in God or believe in a false God that calls them to violence. This is why we have avoided Civil War for so long, and also why at some point it will become inevitable. Keep your powder dry.

It’s one thing to carve out around the filibuster to pass Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill but damned if they are going to do the same to FUND it! What do you think they are, conservatives or something??
