Putin has no cards or Gloves... Just a desire to kill civilians.

Necessity being the mother of invention.

But so many unnecessary things are invented.

"No mention of them being hypersonic, so it looks like it would be vulnerable to being shot down rather easily."

Ukrainian kamikaze "drones" aka converted Ukrainian-produced Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat light aircraft, have been routinely penetrating Russian Air Defenses, delivering 300kg warheads on target at a ranges up to 2000 - 3000 km, including the Russian Shaheed drone factory in Yelabuga, about 800 miles from Ukraine.

Flamingo will be harder to hit, and it will hit much harder.

Much to my surprise, it DOES look like a V1, pulse-jet and all.

During WWII the Germans used these...

It was too dangerous for the RAF pilots to get near enough to shoot it down as the resulting explosion would take out the pilot and his Spitfire.

The solution was to fly close enough to tip the wing and the auto pilot flew it into the ground.

Impossible to know if this is disinformation or a feint, or real.

Both sides actively engage in information warfare. They would be fools and idiots if they did not.

Two sets of plans, one to blabber about, and a vastly different one to implement!

If they can make that, what do they need our help for?

The United Kingdom had the most capable navy on earth, a world class army, and a significant air force at the start of World War II. To paraphrase you: “If they had all that, what did they need the help of the U.S.A. for?”

Your question is about as reasonable.

The Flamingo hit its first target yesterday. The target was a border patrol outpost on the Crimean border.

Preliminary reports suggests three Flamingo missiles destroyed a border patrol barracks and six patrol hovercraft. I call that a good start.

By the way, has Russia recovered from Ukraine's attacks on her refineries, or is 18% of Russian refinery capacity, more or less, still down?

the US is an exporter of oil, whatever happens to Russian oil wont affect prices here one iota.

That reflects a wonderful ignorance of basic economics. Oil prices are global, and shortages anywhere are reflected in prices everywhere. Any difference in the price of a product in different locations becomes an opportunity for arbitrageurs, who then close out the price difference by their activity shifting assets between the different markets until it evens out. I've made a lot of money that way over the years.

(The Ukrainian Flamingo) "Looks like an old German V1."

Absolutely. It is quite similar (speed, warhead weight), but larger, heavier and with a much longer range (1,800 miles, vs. 250), and much higher accuracy.

I’m sure Ukraine’s got some brains in their War department.

Weren't a lot of weapons for the USSR developed and built in industrial Ukraine? Those factories and experts remained after the breakup of the USSR. USSR pulled nuclear materials out, but the means for building tanks, jets and rockets remained in Ukraine.

If Ukraine wants to escalate to the point Russia uses nuclear weapons, Kiev will be a mushroom cloud.
