My employer has a “dress for your day” policy. If you’re dealing with customers etc, dress for it, otherwise, causal is fine. Jeans, nice shirt etc.
The CEO is an excellent CEO and good guy. He isn’t a slob but he also dresses in CEO casual most of the time. Because he’s a bigger guy, unticked shirts are more the norm.
Not my thing unless I’m carrying a firearm but it’s the style.
My job is customer facing as a product trainer. I’m more jeans and work boots. It’s sometimes hard to find the right clothes for other occasions because my office casual is all pretty old and unused.
But, to the topic at hand, my suit had a small tear on the shoulder so for my daughter’s wedding, I certainly bought a new suit even though suits weren’t required at the wedding. It’s what you do.
An invite to the White House would absolutely require a suit and tie. Heck we went on a public white house tour and I considered dressing nicer.
“ If Zelensky wears a suit for Trump tomorrow, it’s over.”
I agree because if wears a suit he has surrendered to Trump.
“ If he shows up in his combat uniform, the war continues.”
I disagree because he will have disrespected the president and the Oval Office for a second time.
“””I was thinking maybe something like what Joe Pesci wore in “My Cousin Vinny”.”””
I bought a new suit. You seen it. Now it’s covered in mud. So I had to by this ridiculous looking thing in a second hand store. For you.
WOW!
Excellent post !
“Exactly what went on and led by JD Dunce. But this was read meat for FReepers, and most liked the Trump-Vance performance.”
It immediately hit me as gross overreaction intended to disrupt the productivity of the discussion and make Z look like a bad guy. It was almost amateur hour over acting from Vance. But we have no idea what was discussed during the rehearsal before the press meeting. There is always a rehearsal and discussion about how the press will be handled. It is always about optics 101 and a script is agreed to ahead of time. Z may have jumped out off script...
I remember that. And it was also reported that he said “F*** Trump” to his welcoming committee shortly after arriving in London following his disgraceful behavior at the White House the day before.
I’m not positive that it’s true, but it certainly seems plausible.
Someone might want to inform Zelensky that anything other than a suit won't be well-received by Trump.
It's time for the man-child to understand the importance of the situation.
I'm sure there are plenty of shops that can provide one in short notice. pic.twitter.com/Njd0Gwvjfx— Gunther Eagleman™ (@GuntherEagleman) August 18, 2025
What drives me nuts is the sport coat over an earth-tone t-shirt thing. Where the heck did that come from?
It was as though Zelensky got jumped in a dark alley by Trump-Vance. Marco Rubio not so much. JD Vance is the most isolationist, the most dismissive of Europeans and their squabbles. JD started in on Z, then Trump followed.
Hegseth and Vance are isolationists.
Rubio is not.
Trump is middle of the road.
🚨 LMAO! DC residents are sending a message to Zelensky prior to his arrival at the White House
“WEAR A SUIT, BRO” 🤣🔥

5 of 6 of your paragraphs were devoted to excoriating me rather than addressing substance, while the events of the day vindicated me and Zelensky.
Pehaps you could find time for one paragraph of apology.
I did notice you preferred to slip-slide into not answering my question. An avoidance which goes a long way in showing my point to be correct.
The whole day in Washington with the whole world watching taught you nothing.
The 5 paragraphs described you and your position perfectly; that you find them insulting is appropriate. That you do not and probably would not consider how insufferable and wrong your points were is not my fault, and deserves no apology. I did notice you preferred to slip-slide into not answering my question. An avoidance which goes a long way in showing my point to be correct.
Let me be clear: your question, lonely as it was among so many personal attacks, was not validated with an answer on this conservative forum because, by your boorishness, you forfeited the right to debate with your peers.
People who make that kind of response simply can't defend themselves and what they said, so they pretend to take the high road. Virtue signaling at its finest.
Good job. I'm sure you feel in your safe space once again. Most lefties do that, and then there are those on conservative forums who, like you, pull the same BS.
