Yikes!
That’s like saying in 1944 that invading Normandy would endanger the lives of the remaining Jews in Europe.
Great analogy. Catch 22 - once Hamas realizes that the World’s useful idiots aren’t going to save them, then they might give up the hostages to save their own ass*s.
Yyyeahhh. So the hostages are better off with Hamas in charge. Got it.
The hostages are dead as we speak.
I was thinking the same although not with that good analogy in mind.
An example of a Nazi trying to ‘save his skin’:
The Himmler-Kersten Agreement was a document signed on 12 March 1945 by Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler and his personal physician Felix Kersten, in which Himmler made four pledges ‘in the name of humanity’ concerning the fate of Nazi concentration camps upon the approach of Allied forces at the end of the Second World War.
The four points of the agreement were that on the approach of Allied forces:
The concentration camps would not be destroyed
A white flag would be flown and control of concentration camps handed over to the Allies
The killing of Jews would be ceased and Jews treated equally to other prisoners
The inmates would not be evacuated and Sweden would be allowed to send food parcels to individual Jewish prisoners
The document was signed in secret, in the presence only of Himmler’s secretary Rudolf Brandt, in a room at the Hohenlychen Sanatorium.
This agreement saved the lives of 60,000 Jews as well as more than 15,000 people who were rescued during the White Buses operations in March-April 1945.
Which is kinda the point of taking hostages in the first place. This guy’s a real ‘Sherlock Holmes’ to figure that out.
The only one hostage that hasn’t been starved to death was just videoed digging his grave
There’s none left to save
Make the rubble bounce I say
Um…have you ever been in the IDF or have a (YOUNG) loved one putting their life on the line daily or leaving the line permanently scarred and altered?
54 IDF members have taken their own lives since the war began. 16 in 2025 alone. Most in the 18-21 age group.
Clearly, the chief understands the toll this is taking on his men and women. And he likely has empathy for the loved ones of those being held hostage.
I think all this American news cycle political riff raff leads to a complete dehumanization of the struggle. And we need to be careful not to become soul-less consumers of headlines.
Or as Jim McKay put it, “They’re all gone!”
I can see nothing positive that can come of this. Nothing but heartache for Israel. Here you have a bunch of Arabs that no other Arabs want anything to do with, and for good reason. If they weren’t fighting Israel, they would be fighting the other Arabs. They are culturally incapable of anything but hate and discontent. If Iran was closer to them and spoke Arabic, the Palestinians would be fighting with them, too.
The best Israel can do it to isolate them. Establish an impenetrable perimeter and airdrop whatever humanitarian supplies are necessary to keep them alive. If Hamas takes it all, well, that’s their problem. They have a nice little piece of real estate there. If they played their cards right they would be well to do. But that would require them to stop hating, and I don’t think they are capable of it.
“That’s like saying in 1944 that invading Normandy would endanger the lives of the remaining Jews in Europe.”
I agree totally. Hamass will never return the hostages.
Better to take Hamas out and try to have special forces rescue them like the US special forces did at the Jap Cabanatuan prison camp after the Bataan Death March.
They’re already in jeopardy.
There are pictures of one Israeli captive who looks like a POW from starvation.
I’m sure others look the same.
Like pulling out once you get to the Rhine.
“The hostages are dead as we speak.”
Yes. They’re either dead-dead, or tortured and starving dead men walking. In any case they’ll never be free again.
Yeah cause the remaining hostages who look like stick figures are in such awesome shape right now..right..
Thanks. I had not heard of it.
