“We’re going to build a big beautiful ballroom and Mexico is going to pay for it!” ...Oh, wait.
You mean like it did up until now?
The White House grounds has always been modest and American. We don’t need a ballroom to celebrate .gov and other world leaders. A ballroom at the White House is the last thing we need.
Many high schools have spaces capable of seating 600. There is a point in being able to host larger get togethers.
There isn’t yet and never has been, but there will be in the future.
If the article is correct, and they have been and are using a tent, then there has been and is.
I kind of agree with you. Anything that smacks of European royalty is not good for the American spirit.
That includes naming places after politicians, ornate ceremonies complete with trumpets, and yes…fancy ballrooms.
Or as Rosemary Clooney sang, “Give Me the Simple Life”.
I liked Queen Elizabeth II.
Others? They're a bunch of actors.
Some people are never, ever happy with what pres Trump does at work-all they see is doom, gloom and probable nefarious deeds by him, his staff and cabinet members-even when he and some donors are paying for building a needed addition to enhance the capacity of the WH to entertain dignitaries-with THEIR own money-not ours. When was the last time any dem-or Rino for that matter-spent their own money on something for OUR WH?
I’m tempted to start selling black crepe paper to the doomers on these threads-they can hang it on the positive pres Trump threads instead of just complaining...
Now they will be able to seat 650 instead of 200.
And after that, let’s build on a conference center or ..another ballroom to the Alamo
> I liked Queen Elizabeth II. <
Me too. She was a class act.
But yet she failed in her prime duty, protecting her country. Elizabeth said and did nothing (publicly at least) as hordes of Muslim immigrants overran her country.
I get that the British monarch reigns, but does not rule. I also get that Elizabeth was from another generation, and perhaps did not understand the danger.
Because of all that, I don’t blame her much. But she was on the wrong side of history on this one.
Discotheque for the Alamo.
LMAO!
Looking back, she had the political influence to be outspoken.
People would listen if she had something to say.
They already could seat 200 inside-—for more than 200 they were using a tent.
Read the article. As for cost, Air Force one costs 10x that amount.
