The sad reality is that way too many people scam disability (cops included). There is no shame in abusing Welfare, disability, food stamps. Way too many of our fellow Americans grab as many of these benefits as they can get even if they don’t really qualify and then think they should go on forever.

A friend of mine who retired from the police and FBI, took a part time job as an investigator for fraudulent workman’s comp claims.

He was filming a woman who claimed to have a severe neck injury. She and her boyfriend went for a walk on a country road, and along the road she proceeded to give him a head job. He caught the whole thing on film. Needless to say, her neck movements did not indicate that she had a neck injury. The claim was dropped. True story...

If you're gonna claim to be disabled claim a psychiatric disability (generalized anxiety always works). Otherwise you can count on eventually being secretly photographed pumping iron at the gym.

She used to love shaming the able-bodied and capable-of-working folks “on disability” on her show.

I worked for years in the ER of a well known big city hospital. We regularly got in city cops who were asking for Doctor Threedaysoff. They were almost always faking.

OTOH,we rarely got in city firemen and when we did see one they were almost always legit...very few fakers.

Seems I read something about New York employees becoming disabled just before they retire so they are able to double dip a disability and a retirement salary.
