The world was full of polymers and biopolymers long before anyone thought of paint or ‘plastic’. But if they say the ones detected in drinks match the paint on the bottle tops, I guess they’re right.
Whether they are harmful is another matter - the Cellulose that forms the main structural component of plant cell walls is an important source of dietary fiber for humans, and we can’t actually digest it!

We’ve been using glass since they learned to turn sand into glass. Generations of canners have used glass. And still use it, we lived long lives. Cholesterol is another Pharma sham.

Even medicine can in bottles. Smelling salts, too.
