As Rush would say, the faxes from the DNC have gone out to the establishment media for them to all exclaim today’s DNC driven news narrative: Musk is unhappy with Trump and the Big Beautiful Bill.

Trump is thinking about the possible, not the impossible. This is the congress we gave Trump to work with; you can't blame Trump for their corruption.

Trump knows what it will do. It’s a budget reconciliation bill. Can’t do what Musk wants in that bill. That would trigger rge filibuster.

Stupid? Yes. But that’s the way DC works and it takes years to reverse those silly rules.

Reciscion (?) bills are coming.

CNN — No thanks. Why do you support fake news and a proxy of the Deep State and democratic party?

Has Trump fired out an all caps Truth Social post that Elon is actually a “very stupid person who makes terrible cars” yet?

If we lack the votes for perfection, the “abomination” is better than doing nothing.

Someone needs to explain to Musk why the BBB is so important. Also, that he’s on thin ice right now regarding his continued immigration status. Trump can and will deport him if he continues to disrepect him and what he’s trying to accomplish.

Musk and Trump live in two different worlds. As much as one would like perfection and absolute power of the check book…. Trump is not the CEO of America…. He has to play the game as it is. When the nations economy is ripping again and Musk is raking in the benefits …. He’ll somehow find a way to put the abomination in his rear view mirror.

>>”Musk is right. What in the world is Trump thinking?”

Trump is thinking he wants and needs to get his major tax promises enacted as well the increases for border and military spending he promised. This idea that everything on conservatives’ wish list needs to be in this particular bill or they won’t support it, is absurd.

This is a reconciliation bill that has built in limitations on what can and can’t be included. And here’s a news flash. This is not the last bill Congress will ever be allowed to pass. Those issues not addressed in this bill can addressed in subsequent bills.

Recission bills in particular are a good tool which Trump, Johnson and Thune have all said they support, and as with reconciliation bills, they can be passed with a simple majority in the Senate. Expect a series of cost cutting recission bills to be passed that will codify more spending cuts - that is if the GOP grandstanders get off their duffs and pass the reconciliation bill.

It’s a sad reality, Congress is a clogged sewer. They don’t want spending cuts or the DOGE prescriptions.

You are correct, but unfortunately too many people are too uninformed (or stupid) to understand that. My issue will be if the promised bills that are supposed to follow on to the bbb do not materialize and do not put the DOGE cuts into law.

I just watched Jason Smith on Mornings With Maria, and he made a very intelligent request of his Senate colleagues. He started by supporting their desire to include more spending cuts but asked them to quote specific programs they’d like to cut, rather than just citing dollar amounts.

And that gets to the heart of the matter. It’s easy to throw out numbers. And if your purpose is to grandstand, it’s fine to complain that the numbers aren’t big enough. But if your purpose is to propose improvements to the bill that will get majority support in both the Senate and the House and actually pass, then that’s not enough. And simply derailing the bill because the numbers weren’t as low as you would have liked means that NONE of the spending cuts in the bill will be passed, none of the new tax cuts will pass, and the existing Trump tax cuts will expire.
