The tongue-in-cheek question is will Alabama fans vote for a former Auburn HC as governor? It’s one thing to send him to DC, it’s another thing to have him in Montgomery.
That’s awful! He’s money in the Senate in every issue.
I don’t like this idea. What if the Alabama GOP nominee for the Senate has skeletons in his closet?
It’s happened before with Mark Robinson calling himself a “Black Nazi”.
I’ll vote for him.
“The tongue-in-cheek question is will Alabama fans vote for a former Auburn HC as governor?”
He speaks well and is persuasive. He is a natural politician not just a coach.
IMO he had this in the bag even before he announced. Others may get in but he will wipe the floor with him.
The only question is who will replace him in the Senate.
Can’t Trump talk him out of this ridiculously stupid move?
Consider this a good opportunity to get a good YOUNG conservative in the slot.
Alabama is ruby red.
Just keep Roy Moore out of the race.
Hopefully his 2020 primary defeat (he only received 7% of the vote) has quelled his statewide political ambitions.
And yet, we still had Doug Jones a senator for two years...
Roy Motre 2as a mess.p
Explain
I hope Alabama elects a true conservative and not a RINO like former senator Richard Shelby.
Barry Moore (R-AL) (1st congressional district) would be a good choice.
Why is it stupid?
The Congress will revert back to Democrat control in the mid-terms. Being in Congress will literally b e a waste of time.
This guys doesnt want to be a part of that. The BAD stuff (huge cuts and things people won’t like) is coming next. People with other options will be sprinting to the door.
They took so many from the Senate and now another will go. This is not good.
“Alabama is ruby red.”
Their congressional delegation is moderate.
What are the prospects for keeping the Senate seat in the GOP with Tuberville out of the race?
Principled conservatives don’t last long in Washington DC.
They’re either absorbed by the Deep State or they move on to other pursuits.
Of course we will!
Auburn is just Univ of Alabama’s snotty little brother. Still family, though.
