I kinda think you are right on.
Peru and Liberation Theology: Cardinal Juan Landazuri Archbishop of Lima, Peru, for more than three decades through the Nineteen Seventies was a personal friend of Jesuit father Gustavo Gutierrez, the cleric who published the basic manual on Liberation Theology and who belonged to the Izquierda Unida, Peru’s equvalent of the Sandanistas. The Church in Peru has a very interesting history that should demands some interest.
And our present government doesn't give a rat's ass what the commies think about it.
He’s a White Sox fan. Destined to be the worst Pope ever.
I was hoping for the Cardinal from Ghana!
Sadly, no😥
Thank you for your good and knowledgeable information.
I did some work doing what we could to help the Contras counter the Sandanistas and your mention of La Izquierda Unida rang a bell.
I don’t know for sure, but it seems that Liberation Theology does not have the appeal that it once had. The hard core will always promote it, though.

Petrus Romanus.
Let’s give him a chance. The Holy Spirit does great things. And if The Church is in need of money, TLM is a gold mine for them.
