If he's just trolling,..what's the point?

Come on Bruce Campbell’s Chin!

You’d have to have a sense of fun to understand Trump’s trolling of the Democrats.

You and he may think that he is trolling just the Democrats. He's not, and that's the problem.

I'd also suggest that anyone who needs to get their amusement from politics really needs to get out and explore the rest of life a little bit.

>>”We have a fundamental disagreement with regard to the bolded. Perhaps because you are referring to him getting elected, and I am focusing on enacting the policy goals themselves.”

No, I’m referring to Trump getting elected AND his accomplishments. But of course he had to get elected first. If you have trouble seeing Trump’s accomplishments then you’re not looking very hard.

We’re not even 100 days into his term and the border is closed and has been almost since day one. Check that one off the list. Then again maybe you and I have different lists.

Criminal illegals are being rounded up and deported. The number of illegals leaving voluntarily is on the rise as Homeland Security implements a registration system that incentivizes self-deportation.

High tech manufacturing, auto manufacturing and manufacturing in general are returning with Fortune 500 companies like Apple, Nvidia, Hyundai, etc. investing heavily in new plants and expanding production.

Then there’s the Panama canal. We’ve negotiated a deal that ends the growing Chinese control that has crept in over the last few years, while securing priority for American ships and free passage for our Navy.

The armed forces are getting back to doing what they were meant to do, by eliminating DEI policies and returning to a merit based system. Yearly recruiting targets have already been met and it’s only April.

Gas prices are coming down as well as prices generally.

As far as describing Trump’s legislative agenda as “dead in the water”, you’re just simply wrong. Negotiations for the one big beautiful bill are ongoing and the bill is expected to be signed, by most counts, by July at the latest and likely sooner. That’s actually a pretty swift pace for these kinds of bills, and all the more impressive considering the slim majority in the House Trump has had to work with.

DOGE has identified government waste approaching a trillion dollars and counting. Trump has cut much of that spending himself through Executive Order but both Johnson and Thune have stated their intention to make most of those cuts permanent through a recission bill once the reconciliation bill passes.

As far as Trump’s battles with the courts, you provide no reasonable argument for why his style is to blame, because there isn’t one. We all know Trump is dealing with a highly political judiciary that is largely committed to thwarting his agenda. His style has nothing to do with that.

And this paragraph is where you give it away.

>>”And here’s what really bugs me about MAGA — I don’t think they truly care about whether or not the agenda gets enacted, or “sticks” beyond his presidency. I really don’t. Give them a choice between “this is how you accomplish those goals” and “this is how you antagonize Democrats”, and they’ll open door number two first every single time. The emotional catharsis of what they get from Trump’s style is their actual priority.”

When you make comments like this “What really bugs me about MAGA...”, what are you talking about? Are you talking about people who identify with the MAGA movement or the policies themselves? It’s not even clear what your point is.

Once minute you’re criticizing Trump supporters and the next you’re trying to argue that Trump is ineffective and that his style is to blame. You’re all over the map.

This whole discussion between the two of us started with me trying to point out the distinction between supporting Trump’s America First agenda and liking or disliking his personal style. I made the point that if you truly support his agenda, then his style should be of secondary importance.

So which is it? Do you agree with the MAGA agenda? Do you want it to succeed? If so, then why do you care whether or not some supporters of his don’t? Whether they do or not has nothing to do with whether or not Trump is successful.

The bottom line is you’ve given priority to your personal dislike for Trump over his actual polies and effectiveness. Rather than admit that, you pretend he’s failing and blame those supposed failures on his personal style and mannerisms.

LOL That’s an odd little comment / assumption. It says a lot about you. Must be a Ukie thing. Y’all are notoriously humorless.
