What’s the problem with women working in men’s prisons?

Democrats believe that women can do the same jobs as men, so, why the complaints? Are the men being filmed too? If not, why not? Equality demands that they all be treated equal.

illegal strike by prison workers

There's the problem right there. The word "illegal" has no meaning anymore. At least not to demonicRATS.

It would be nice to see more or our young men, particularly among the GOP leadership, with some military service. Guys like Hegseth & Vance are are few and far between.

Governor Kathy Soros strikes again, if anything makes sense, it won’t get done in New York State, unless it gets done secretly in their Republican counties.

"First of all, why does the Guard need to be deployed to Prisons?"

Back in February, there was a wild cat strike of approximately 15,000 NY State Correctional Officers across the State. Officers were being forced to work 24 hour shifts on a regular basis, which is not supposed to happen unless there is an emergency situation at the prison. The State Legislature also passed the HALT Act, which cut the time a prisoner can be placed in special housing down to 15 days.

The State can't get anyone to take the C.O.'s test anymore. Staffing levels were low prior to the strike, thus the forced 24 hour shifts. Cuomo and Hochul closed many prisons in the State during their time in office. Hochul wants to close 5 more this year, and I'm sure she's using the strike to do that. She fired approximately 2,000 officers who refused to go back to work after the HALT Act was temporarily suspended, and the State made other concessions. That's why there are still members of the National Guard at the prisons.

Historically, you've had to be 21 years of age to take the C.O.'s test. Now I see that Hochul wants to lower the age to 18, which makes no sense, because you have to be trained in fire arms use in order to qualify to be a Peace Officer and receive your badge. And you can't be a Correction Officer without being a Peace Officer. You can't own a weapon or get a gun permit in NY State unless you're 21, so her changing the age to hire from 21 to 18 makes no freaking sense.

I took the job in 1980 when I was 33. I'm a female, and started at Auburn without going to the academy. The group of 11 that I came in with went to the academy 9 months after we'd already been doing the job. We didn't get our firearms training and badges until we completed that course. I was hired in the aftermath of the State-wide Union strike of all uniformed staff in 1979. They were out about 3 weeks that time, and National Guard was sent in then too. I retired in 2003.

Same reason Iowa is sending troops to Syria.

It is an indentured servant force and easier to deploy than active duty troops.

Also make great fill in the blank forced employees. Not new.

Hochul wants to change the hiring age for officers from 21 to 18, which makes no sense because in NY State, you have to be 21 to get a gun permit and own a weapon. Correction Officers in NY State are Peace Officers. You have to pass weapons training during the 8 weeks at the academy in order to keep the job, get your Peace Officer status and the badge that goes with it. You can’t be a Peace Officer without it. We had to re-qualify with weapons every year in order to keep our Peace Officer status and badge.

Unfortunately, in a State that has more red counties than blue, RATS control the NY State Legislature with a more than 2-1 majority.

What are they doing changing clothes there in the first place?

I worked a charity drive some years ago. One of the employers was a federal prison, and they had a strict dress code for visitors. I didn’t actually make the site visit, but I’m thinking changing clothes on site presents several unnecessary risks.
