A family member who called FOX 2 said that the two brothers were fighting over something to do with their mother, who had died earlier in the day.

Was it "Mom always liked you best"?

I don't know how many Smothers Brothers we lost that way.

It’s a “belly gun”, if you’re not leaving powder burns you probably missed. Since Texas and so many other states have open carry I’ve moved to an FN 5.7x28. I love it!

2023 I did a solo 23 state, 11,000 mile trip on my Harley. Open carried everywhere but FL. People in MI, WI, IA, and OH looked at me like I had 3 heads.

But his pet chicken killed his brother's dog. I can picture the Smothers Brothers in that family. I once lived next to a family like that, it was hell on Earth. An uncle impregnated a son's girlfriend, and she moved in, and there was lots of fighting. Thankfully no guns.

Two brothers, 57 and 53, arguing over something about ther mother, who had died earlier the same day.

Probably fighting over who was going to get mama’s house and who would continue receiving her Social Security benefits.

That is a significant trip. Longest I did was 6,000 and 9 states. Yuma - Dallas - Houston - Northern Wisconsin and back. I rode a Suzuki 650 adventure with dual black aluminum panniers. Black bike, black armor, white helmet. Everyone thought I was a cop. It was great.

Did it twice over the years.

I am seriously considering a Keltec PR57. 20 rounds of 5.7, 19 ounces fully loaded, internal magazine, stripper clips. Designed for CCW.

Can’t get them yet, but soon.. I shot one at the Shot Show in Las Vegas this year.

RE: in 1963, the year I turned eight. I could understand most of the lyrics (except for the line “at night I make the bars”).
Ha.

In 1964 the country star Roger Miller had a comedy hit with “Chug-a-Lug.” First tries at drinking starting as a kid.
You might have learned from it.

Grape wine in a Mason jar
Homemade and brought to school
By a friend of mine ‘n’ after class
Me and him and this other fool decide
That we’ll drink up what’s left
Chug-a-lug, so we helped ourself
First time for everything
Hmm, my ears still ring.
Chug-a-Lug.

Jukebox ‘n’ sawdust floor
Somethin’ like I ain’t never seen
And I’m just goin’ on 15
But with the help of my finaglin’
Uncle I get snuck in
For my first taste of sin
I said, “Lemme have a big old sip”
I done a double back flip.

Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
Make you want to holler, “Hi-de-ho!”
Burns your tummy, don’t ya know?
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug.

Yes.

The one who was supposed to bring the sweet potato pie is deceased and the pie dessert is out. A round shattered the glass pie plate. But people shouldn’t starve themselves during a time of tragedy.

“One day me Ma’s relations came round to visit me,
Just as my father’s kinfolk were all sittin’ down to tea.
We tried to smooth things over, but they all began to fight,
And me, being strictly neutral, I bashed everyone in sight.”
