Excluding Sweden, three countries have 85%-90% native born populations.
Sweden plays games when reporting its demographics.
It claims that 25% are foreign born. It does not explain that 15% are Europeans or Russians or Baltic Sea countries.
The chart of “happiness” vs. GDP is almost inversely related to “happiness” vs average annual temperature. The coldest places show up as the happiest places. Having grown up in a cold place (northern Minnesota), I can see why. When you live where it is cold much of the year you’re almost required to get along with others. Simple things like bringing things home from the store, shoveling snow from your sidewalk, walking to school, etc., can be quite dangerous if minor things get in the way. You rely on and contribute to help from others. This builds a circle of friends that doesn’t happen in a hot neighborhood where people often hide from each other in order to remain in their air conditioned “paradise”.
Next question?
Also the vikings didn’t take the ugly ones.
“Lessons from the happiest countries in the world: What is their secret?”
No Democrats?
“What makes the Nordics so happy?”
Demographics please. Do tell!!
Quite possible. I find pickled herring in the wine sauce fixes almost everything.
“Herring is a rich source of vitamin D. Fresh Atlantic herring provides around 1,628 IU per 3.5-ounce (100-gram) portion, which is almost three times the recommended daily intake.”
“Vitamin D is associated with various aspects of mental health, including depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline. Research suggests that vitamin D deficiency may contribute to depression-like symptoms and that individuals with depression often have higher chances of having vitamin D deficiency.”
That and the fact that the really depressed ones have offed themselves and arent dragging the others down too means only happy people can respond.
