Time to throw Mz “See You In Court’s” ass in jail.
Wonder what Amy will do when she gets this one
This is how to do it. Anybody who does not comply is now committing a crime and can be arrested and charged by the DOJ.
Trump doesn’t make “law.” He can control the money.
No one is getting arrested for this stuff.
People need to tone it down a notch or two.
So basically what happens now?
See post 6 for a lot of detail.
Bottom line—President Trump can destroy the state’s finances.
The DOJ can absolutely arrest people for violating federal civil rights.
Here is the legal language if folks want to debate the meaning:
https://www.fbi.gov/investigate/civil-rights/federal-civil-rights-statutes
See the statute in post 11.
It looks like a criminal case could be made against state/school officials for intentionally conspiring to cause potential harm to a group of people (women’s athletes).
If there was a case in Maine of actual physical harm to a female athlete that would make the criminal case much stronger.
The parties go to court. If Maine is found to not be in compliance they will be assessed a fine and if still out of compliance Title IX money will be withheld.
Main used to be pretty conservative!
So were NH and even VT!
So sad!
Overran with NY and MA liberals!
This case is particularly interesting for what it means to other states.
If a transgender athlete harmed a female athlete in competition in any state we are definitely talking criminal in addition to civil liability—to governors, school administrators, coaches etc.
Could happen, most likely won’t.
If the administration files one criminal civil rights lawsuit against officials of one state the rest will probably cave.
The beauty of this is that DOJ can file that criminal action against the state of their choosing in the venue of their choosing at a time of their choosing on a specific case of their choosing.
There are several governors that really could get swatted and thrown in jail. They are at the mercy of DOJ discretion.
I like the cards we are holding.
I trust President Trump to play them well.

What to watch—if a female athlete suffers a severe injury at the hands of a Trans athlete that would probably be the strongest case.
Wouldn’t this be a civil case?
"If a transgender athlete harmed a female athlete in competition in any state"
Amen
