Soccer players are running up and down the field for most of the match, unlike baseball and football players sitting on the bench. It doesn't get as hot as in some of the US in most of Europe and some of Latin America. Problems with heat in the Copa America in the US in 2024. They are talking about making the times in the morning or evening so it won't be so hot, although like 12:30 PM is better for TV in Europe. The World Cup in Qatar was played in November and December so it would be cooler. The 2026 World Cup will be mostly in the US with 2 cities in Canada and 3 in Mexico. The heat will probably be an advantage to the US, like Italy, Spain, and Columbia.

Obviously ludicrous.
But keeping it out of the US is a good idea.

What utter bunk. This is more about creating yet another media narrative than any actual safety concerns. Everything the globalist do is about the narrative.

We spent time in Europe a few years back and EVERY NEWS STORY had an element of “climate change” woven into it. There was rioting over a guy that tried to kill some cops and they blamed climate change. The lemon crop was not as bountiful so it was due to climate change, not the revised rules of pesticide use. The coastal erosion was not a natural occurrence, like something that has been happening since the dawn of time, no, it was due to global warming.
They don’t take a minute off.

...particularly for some U.S. host cities. Climate change poses a significant threat...Usually cooler temps in Mexico that time of year. Go there.

Yes. FIFA has no problem going to Qatar or sauna cities in southern Europe or Latin America. The people who run FIFA care about bribes, not comfort or player safety.
That said, I’m not keen on summer games outdoors in southern tier U.S. cities. There are plenty of more temperate cities in the U.S. The television dollars, not single game ticket sales in LA, drive the money, and the same viewers would watch if the LA game was shifted to Nome. But Nome might not be as popular with the billionnaires buying the sky suites.
If I were planning a U.S. based Olympics with summer dates, I might give southern California beach volleyball, but I would take serious sports elsewhere.

“ They don’t take a minute off.”
Sad and disturbing at the same time.
Plan on catching a couple matches next summer.
Montreal & NY. Maybe Washington if time permits.
Maybe see if Trump wants to go also.👍😉

If they scheduled all of the games during the over-night hours in America, that would allow most of their audience who want to watch this stuff live to do so.
Except of course for the south and central americans who can watch from the comfort of their own homes instead of in the US.

Soccer is by far the most popular sport in very hot Africa, Mid East, Brazil etc. They don't have a problem with the heat.
Europeans can go take a jump!

The money quote: “ The heat will probably be an advantage to the US, like Italy, Spain, and Columbia.”
Sounds to me like FIFA doesn’t want to disadvantage soccer’s higher tier countries.

How’s this for bunk.
“The study projects a sharp increase in humidity and solar radiation in the Northern Hemisphere during the summer of 2026.”
Weather predictions more than 3 days out are just SWAGS.
