Can't wait to see what the punishment is going to be.

Eleven people were charged in the Jan. 13 burglary with possessing or receiving goods stolen from interstate shipment. All 11 have pleaded not guilty and were all ordered detained until trial. Ten are Mexicans who were in the United States illegally. Another defendant is a Mexican citizen who was in asylum proceedings in the United States, authorities said in court records.
The suspects in the Jan. 13 heist were caught with the help of tracking devices that were inside some of the boxes, the complaint says.
These thieves are going to make great Nike-wearing DemonRAT Americanos. I guess this explains why all illegal aliens you see are wearing a brand-new pairs of Nikes.
Suspects are described as “undocumented wholesalers.”
The rail trade group said additional federal enforcement and tougher penalties are needed to deter the thefts. The railroads estimate that only about 1 out of every 10 theft attempts result in an arrest, and many of the people who are arrested are repeat offenders. One railroad even reported arresting the same individual five times in a single day.

LOL no chance of Mafia job for them.
I am very familiar with these thefts. And the only way they could be happening is with help from entities within the company and the security company. They better focus their investigations internally.
The cars are not obviously maked as “NIKE” so someone is telling them exact details of what trains, what cars, and the exact scheduled run through certain areas. And the 3rd party security is telling them where they are going to be or not be patrolling.
I read that as “steal unreleased nukes”
carload of Pinkertons
Out of the millions of train cars rolling across America, how would someone know which freight cars were hauling Nike shoes?
Inside job.
“Were these intermodal trains, or regular box cars?”
Intermodal containers.
They seem to have extremely short memories here.
I know for a fact you all saw the pics and videos from a couple years ago where they were busting into rail cars in LA and throwing merchandise off the trains.
The dam tracks were littered with stuff.
Someone stole a page from Anton Chigurh’s playbook.
But with the containers there are only about 5 overseas shipping companies and they are all painted the same for each company. One train could have 50 containers all marked the same. Or mixed loads of different companies. But it equates to thousands of containers painted the same because there are only those 5 companies.
Yep... Inside job.
Unfortunately, the thieves well knew that with George Gascon (may he burn in hell) as DA, chances were good they either wouldn't be caught (cops wouldn't bother) or not prosecuted if caught b/c these thefts were considered "low-level."
"Union Pacific, one of the country's largest railroad companies, has reported a 160% year-over-year increase in theft in Los Angeles County.
The company claims that a December 2020 special directive issued by District Attorney George Gascón, which changed how low-level offenses are prosecuted, has contributed to the uptick in thefts."
Yeah, they also seemed to know exactly which cars to break into.
Wonder if they’ll be marched into court in stolen Nike’s - worth around $225/pair.
For any sane person not buying into Nike's wildly inflated values, the true value of the theft would make this a misdemeanor.
