I just turned 73. I’m on my third retirement looking for part time work. Don’t need to work, want to work. Boredom can be a killer for us old folks.
Nothing in this article looks like ‘news.’ Haven’t the ages mentioned been established for a long time?
yep, military + any government job afterwards usually equal 2 pensions + SS
This is a big problem in my opinion. I don’t know if anything should be done to those who took advantage of the system as it was when they went through. But going forward this should change. People should only be able to collect 1 government pension and/or social security whichever is higher. But the change would have to take affect only for workers just starting working now.
yep, just click bait. This is super old news.
I’m going to be 62 in 8 months love/hate my job love I will continue hate I will retire. Thoughts?
Retired at 56. Don’t need SS. No college degree. 3 minute walk to the Carribean. Made the right moves.
I’m impressed that someone could waste a 2 letter ‘.com’ URL on such trivial nonsense.
**Don’t need to work, want to work. Boredom can be a killer for us old folks.**
If you are a female and have kept your weight down you won’t need to work. Plenty of guys out there willing to pay your bills and the hours are good too!
If you are a man keep working.
Before Ukraine gets one penny of Federal money, first they have to liquidate all their bank accounts, jewelry, gold bullion, investments, savings and assets, including seaside villas, Parisian penthouses, Swiss chalets, real estate, and luxury yachts.
What's sauce for the goose, is sauce for the gander.
God speed to you! I have a boring salaried job and yearn for when I retire and can start on a billion house repairs followed by some entrepreneurial efforts.
I love working not the issue just company bullshit issues and drama. I just want to code.
I am a 6 foot 260 pound happily married male, thanks.
SS and 90% service connected, but I can still get around, just can’t hear thunder. Damned F4s.
Well everyone is different. I am 72 and i haven’t been bored for five minutes since l retired 10 years agp.
LOL! Happy for you. I stay busy in the warm months, but winter puts the kibosh on all my outdoor activities. Just want something to get through the cold months.
I retired at 62. I am busy with hobbies and interests. Great decision for me. But then i worked my tail off and saved like crazy.
Better watch out on those part time jobs. I started one a few years ago as an anticipated intermittent gig. Some weeks are lighter than others, but it is a full time job now with all the hours I want, and more.
Thing is, when you get to where you can comfortably retire, the office politics cease to be a concern. Want me to work, I’ll work. Want to fire me, I’ll find something else to do with my time. None of the stress of someone who has to work for a living. And let them know you don’t have to put up with BS.
$218,420 and counting on Social Security. It’s like found money. Did you think 20 years ago that we’d ever see a dime of it? So long as the suckers keep funding our Ponzi scheme checks, I’m in good shape.
I’ve got a baseball team of grandchildren and don’t have enough time to do everything I want with them. It’s my full time job trying.
