A beautiful 14 year old white girl is allowed by her Minnesota parents to be in a romantic relationship with an 18 year old black man. What could go wrong? Now she is dead, stabbed to death by the black man. Sickening. In my day, parents never allowed their daughters to date outside their race. Now things are different I suppose. Still, the parents of this murdered girl should be ashamed at how they failed her.

Well, in the 1980s this white guy dated a Filipina - “outside my race” - and we’re still married. Nearing 38 years.

OTOH, when my mixed race daughter was 14, I would never have allowed her to date an 18 year old guy of ANY race - if I knew about it.

I think it is more a question of “Why did her parents allow a young teen to date an adult male?” That difference hardly ever results in a healthy relationship. A girl of fourteen is in no way mature enough to stand up against the demands/pressures an adult male would put on her to have sex. Not to mention it would be illegal.

There are mixed race couples that have very healthy and equal relationships. The difference being both are adults with similar backgrounds.

Some people mature sooner than others. A girl in 6th grade was a full blown woman. In junior high she got pregnant with the help of a 21 year old. It was the sixties so the family moved and didn’t hear any more about them.

I can guarantee you that a 6th was not a full blown woman at 12 regardless of how she appeared. What happened to her was a crime and may have ruined her life.
