If Arizona has ballot initiatives, then a simple initiative to ban universal mail in voting, do what Florida does, you have to prove who you are to get a ballot in order to mail it in.
Florida has a 2-weeks of in person early voting, a person who proves who they are with a valid ID, can drop their mail in ballots in a drop box at polling places only.
Good idea!
What bothers me the most are these “federal only” voters.
What does it mean, that in federal elections (president, senate, US congress) you do not need the proof of citizenship at all!
And, since AZ has this particular “proof of citizenship” state law, it tells me that most states do NOT have that law.
So in most places, anybody, without any proof of citizenship, can register and vote.
And very few people know about this!!!
People, educate themselves!
Any illegal can register and vote!
Stop this!
I don’t understand the Federal Election because in Florida I had to show and ID to early vote in person and that is the requirement for every election Federal or not.
You can be assured if that wasn’t required the Democrats in Florida would be all over that in court.
I guess I was mixing up two things. ID and Federal only.
Those are separate things.
Even the “federal only” have to show ID in AZ.
But, they can register, and vote, without proving their citizenship!
Basically in the US, anybody can show up at the registrar and say, here I am, I want to register, I live in (address).
And he/she/they/them/xem/,,, must be registered, without proving that they are citizens and so entitled to the vote!
Yes, if its found that they are not, they could be punished, as it is illegal for noncitizens too vote. But there is no proof required!
At the booth, in AZ, they pop up as Federal Only voters, because you have to proof your citizenship to vote in AZ state races (state law)! But not in federal races (federal law)!
In most states (I am not sure about Florida) they just register you, without any proof, and you can vote the whole ballot!
Well, to be devil advocate, I doubt many noncitizens will jeopardize their well being, just to vote, since, if caught, there may be consequences?!
Many of those AZ “federal only” are probably citizens, who just misplaced their birth certificate?! At least, that what the Dems are telling us to justify this abomination.
But, who knows?!
I just know, that no proof of citizenship is required to vote in Federal elections in the whole US!
I few states (I know AZ only, but there may be more), you have to show proof of citizenship, but you can still vote in federal elections.
Almost nobody knows this and it is actually hard to explain to people, as they are rightfully stunned!
More clarification -
While I (a proven citizen) in AZ got on November 5 four page ballot with all kind of local candidates, propositions and judges to vote on, “federal only” voter got in the same election one page ballot with three choices to vote on: president, US senator and US congressman!
These are not state functions, so the state law does NOT apply to them and federal law does NOT require proof of citizenship!
