This is the first pick I dislike. Coward against the LGBTQ mafia. Went against Trump and accepted Afghan “refugees” in her state. Reported affair with Corey. The dog thing - justified or no - was something she had no reason to put in print and shows bad judgment and loose lips. I hate this pick and hope he reconsiders it.

Yep. I still have no idea just what the DHS does. What did they do when the border was wide open the past 4 years allowing God knows how many terrorists, gang members, foreign military into the country? Homeland security? Where? It’s just one more useless agency that should be dismantled.

She can be in charge of part of it, then turn the rest over to Elon and Vivek to cut. I do think it’s important for President Trump to have the people he wants and trusts in these roles.
I think, if she wants to advance her career, she will be brave enough to do what is necessary.

Good observation. The DHS “umbrella” has been nothing but a deep state consolidation of power and control.
Right now Homeland Security works with companies like Facebook and Youtube to censor and deplatform and silence American citizens.
Obviously that needs to stop ASAP—and the Homeland Security officials involved in that effort need to be fired or if they cannot be fired need to be on the next Antarctic expedition with no return ticket.
That is all he needs. People who think the govt is too big will understand that

I’d have similar concerns, recalling how she waffled on social issues as governor. With the foul winds she would be facing as DHS, idk if she has the guts to do the job.
This pick surprised me too. It’s head scratching questionable to me why he would pick her for such an important role. I’m really not seeing what’s in her background that says she has the chops for it.
