Not true. FEMA has a 'preferred providers' list. Funds flow to their 'preferred providers', and some say they kickback to officials in the state.
Anyway, if you're not a 'preferred provider' your contributions risk decreasing contributions from 'preferred providers'.
Not only that it complicates their ability to submit false invoices to rake in funds for services not rendered. They're no doubt comfortable about not getting caught by the FJB Regime, who would likely be in on it anyway. This is the disgusting level of corruption we are at in this nation. What's the worry with the Russians, ChiComs, Islamic Jihad, Tren de Aragua and such when we have institutions of ruthless domestic enemies who will kill us for profit. This is a warning for people to develop their own personal concise supply cache for emergencies.

Which volunteer organization, Cajun Navy? No, it is Grindstone Ministries.
See their website under the section titled "Deployment Information for Helene".
See item #1 under "Deployment packing list".
Note that they have just revised this page and no longer mention ammunition. This item was also previously the last item on their list. What could that possibly mean?
In my county, the Sherriff conducted seminars during the summer for church groups who have armed security at their services. There are a large number of churches which have security forces in the congregation with concealed weapons during services. The Sherriff fully supports this kind of preparation. More to the point, a church security force has been previously called upon and used lethal force in this State to defend congregants.
So, I am not totally surprised that a church ministry for disaster relief might have an armed security group on site. I have no information on how this group organizes suitable volunteers for this duty or what their rules of engagement might be.

The new budget year began October 1. FEMA is not out of funds.
