Drums suck horribly if you ever had to use them. Rounds I. Them can bump sideways, they’re easily damaged, they’re heavy as all hell, and when they jam they jam spectacularly. Shotgun drums work ok in my experience, but short pistol cartridges SUCK in drums
In 1975 my sister’s boyfriend at the time received a M-3 from his brother, who had shipped it back from Vietnam in stereo speaker. We lived 15 miles back up in the woods above White Salmon, Washington and he brought it up to shoot.
Do not get your hopes up. Heller already ruled on machine guns. This is the Dangerous AND Unusual part of the ruling.
Unusual was decided in a later case as less than 200,000. It would be hard to see a change in this as it was stated in three Supreme Court cases. Always hopeful but not likely. Appeals will overturn and Supreme will not take it.
Lets take on the other parts of NFA, short barreled rifles and silencers. Silencers are not dangerous and short barreled rifles are not unusual.
The rule changes maybe an action by the ATF to clog the courts and delay any rulings on silencers. There are some cases working their way though the courts that will touch on short barreled rifles.
That would be the easiest and simplest means to get full auto.
There was a gorgeous tommygun at one of the Big Reno shows around 20 years ago. It came out of the SFPD. Mint condition, with drums.
