Not just Pulaski, but also Kosciuszko, who was probably more consequential to the American Revolution as a military engineer and more prominent as a Polish patriot. Supposedly, George Washington chronically misspelled his name, but then then met Kosciuszko to review his plans for fortifications at West Point. After that, Washington never got the name wrong.
